You know, after the Gonzalez blooper where he said "if we play this inning out 100 times, we win the next 99 times."

Venezuela beat the US 5-3 tonight to win Pool C.

If this is a double elimination tournament, how is it fair that Venezuela can come back and only have to beat the US one time to win the pool? Shouldn't we be rewarded for winning the first two games and have to be knocked off twice? This was our first loss tonight, and we finished 2nd in Pool C. I'm not legitimately mad or anything, I just think the format is pretty stupid.

The format is stupid, but I'm glad it's only double elimination. I don't want the season to be delayed any more than it already will be.

Dice-K is pitching lights out vs. Cuba today. Pitching a shutout through 4 innings with 6 Ks

EDIT: Finished his day hitting the 85-pitch cutoff after finishing the 6th inning. He allowed 5 hits, struck out 8 and the biggest key, he walked none

Dice-K 6 innings, 85 pitches, no BB's, nice outing.

Hopefully when he comes back to camp he will continue to pitch well, and maybe get passed 6inngs before hitting the 100 pitch mark in a regular season game :D

he wasn't facing big league hitters and allowed himself to pitch confidently.

He needs to overcome his awe of the big leagues and realize that at the core the duel of hitter and pitcher is the same as it is in Japan.

He needs to be more aggressive, and not so much of a nibbler. Hopefully after 2 seasons, he has finally realized the K-Zone in the MLB is not the size of a Cadillac.
