DeAndre Brown (Southern Miss' freshman phenom WR) had one of the nastiest breaks I've seen in a while earlier in the New Orleans Bowl. His lower leg was just dangling. Freakin sick.

 

Troy and Southern Miss are tied 17-17 at the half.

I am watching this LSU-GT game and I am really impressed with LSU's true freshman QB. He's gonna be a good one. Good speed, good arm and a really good awareness of the pocket.

Yeah, he looks good and he's only going to get better. This game is getting ugly in a hurry... 28-3.

 

Sadly my new favorite team, Air Force, lost today. It was a very good game, though. Their coaches name has come up as a candidate for the Broncos job, since he spent some time in the Broncos organization before leaving with Gary Kubiak when he went to the Texans. I'd rather he stay at Air Force, though.

Me and some friends drove over to Nashville Tuesday (only 4 hours) and did some stuff, then went to the Music City Bowl yesterday. Other than the low 20s temps it was a blast. We bought some cheap $15 tickets in the upper deck and shortly after the game started we moved down and sat on the SIXTH ROW directly next to the Boston College band. The BC band was freakin awesome and played a lot of Dropkick Murphys stuff too. All in all it was a great experience. Best $15 tickets ever.

I'm very impressed with Ole Miss against Texas Tech.

 

That said, I want to know Shannon Woods's 40 time. He's insanely fast and looks like the fastest on the field.

Holy mother of God. Utah is OBLITERATING Alabama in the opening moments of the game. They are seriously making them look like a JV team.

14-0 Utah. They are seriously kicking the s*** out of Alabama at the moment. They even just covered the kick off before Alabama could return it to the 20. Unbelievable. I know it's early, but they're putting on quite a show.

 

I just realized how strong the MWC is. BYU, Utah, TCU, New Mexico... even Air Force isn't bad. That should be a BCS conference.

If Alabama loses it wouldn't hurt the SEC anyway, so I can see why you'd root for Utah. If the Utes win it will be because of being underrated, not Alabama being overrated.

Hell naw. I don't care much for Bama to begin with and I'd love to see an upset. I generally pull for the SEC in bowl games unless it's Ole Miss or Arkansas, and Bama to an extent. The conference speaks for itself as the best in the nation anyway. Plus, some stupid journalist who's a Bama grad wrote a ridiculous article about how Mississippi State (a charter member) should be kicked out of the SEC around 5 years ago. We haven't forgotten that.

What a game. Utah shows why they deserve a shot at the title.

 

I could probably argue that Utah put on a better show against Alabama than Florida did. Then again, it would be hard to argue against the fact that Florida was missing Percy Harvin when they beat Alabama, and against Utah, Alabama didn't have Andre Smith.

 

Regardless, Utah beat Alabama in every facet of the game. Congrats on a perfect season Utes! The MWC should absolutely be a BCS conference now.

If Jags interviews with the Jets tomorrow, he will be fired and Logan will take over the head coaching duties.

 

Now, I'm a little disappointed with how the administration is going about this, but if Jags signed a contract that restricts such actions on Jags' part, I see no problem with it.

 

It will be difficult in the recruiting area though, as this kind of instability does not sell well to kids looking to come here.

 

BC is looking for a head coach who wants to be here long-term and can sell the school well to the recruits. Jags is obviously not showing much interest in that regard.
