Thats whats missing and keeping this team from taking off. Before he hurt his wrist he was going nuts with hits OBP and steals, Ellsbury that is.

I'd be more proned to think Ellsbury found his stroke if he hit the ball with some authority. He's been on base twice tonight because the ball was placed well. I'm rooting for the kid, want him to do well, but I've been more encouraged in some of his 0-4 games where he hit the ball better but right at someone.

The piece that hit Bannister wasn't without authority IMO. It was going right up the gut if Bannister wasn't there, and it looked like a solid piece off the bat to me.

Ellsbury may be showing signs of coming around with the lumber, but that's his second bone headed baserunning mistake in two games.
