More like you're just the most irritatingly pessimistic type of fan. It's a sport, it generates tension between fans and other teams, get over it dude, the fact that you don't feel that way doesn't make you level-headed or rational.

 

If you were a rational thinking human being, you wouldn't be criticizing the Sox for things they haven't even done yet, like losing the Wild Card to the Rays, who aren't playing too well themselves right now. That's actually the opposite of rational thinking.

 

No one's telling you to be optimistic, hell the performance the Sox have turned in has been sickening to watch, but your pessimism levels are hard to tolerate, and I can see where people would question your fanhood because of some of the crap you've said over the past month.

I think every Red Sox fan in their right mind hates Tampa Bay. I respect the Rays and everything, but I hate the team and their fans. I live in Fort Myers and there are a lot of Rays fans down here. There are a few Sox fans since Spring Training is down here, but we are only a couple hours away from Tampa and the Rays fans are everywhere. The Sox need to sweep the O's this next series so we don't have to worry about anything. We can't count on the Rays to lose. I refuse to let the Rays fans have bragging rights because they beat us out of the Wild Card spot. f*** you Tampa, let's get this done.

i love this!!! i live in tampa. my roommate and i were watching the sox game a few weeks ago on my back porch havinga few beers. during a commercial i asked him if he wanted me to switch over to the rays game to see the score.( he was born in tampa, he's a rays fan.) he said no. he said they're 10 games back and there's no reason to watch. i tried explaining to him that they ( at the time) still had like 10 games against the SOX and Yanks. they could make a comeback. having no faith, he said that's not gonna happen. who cares. NOW, i get s*** everyday about how the Sox suck, the rays are the better team, they are going to be in the playoffs. Leave it to a rays fan to come out of nowhere! it PISSES me off. even if your team blows, stick by them. it hurts sometimes to watch this team implode, but you gotta watch. if every fan was a casual fan, what's the point in the regular season? i hate fans who only watch the playoffs and call themselves die-hard fans! NO!! you're a band-wagon casual fan. they do the same s*** whenever the Lightning make the playoffs. all of a sudden everyone watches hockey. if anyone has ever been to the St. Pete Times Forum ( where the lightning play) you know they can't GIVe those tickets away!

USF is a good school, I also thought about going there, but when it came down to it, I decided on FGCU, for the fact that it is in Fort Myers and I can go to the Red Sox Spring Training games whenever I want. You are right, there are a lot of good schools in Florida. It was tough for me to decide between UCF, USF, and FGCU. I would never attend UF, UM, or FSU though, that is just a personal thing.

 

Anyways, I see Rays fans all of the time. It's funny how a couple months back Rays fans were unheard of, but now I see Rays fans after I turn every corner.
