The Potential One-game playoff between the Sox and the Rays would be played at The Trop, so that has to favor the Rays. At the same time, I still think the Sox are better than the Rays and will find some way to win. No matter who wins, it doesn't appear that either of them will go far in the playoffs. Then again, i've been wrong before...

I agree that the Sox shouldn't rely on the Rays to lose. It should also be noted that the Red Sox need someone else to come through in the clutch besides Ellsbury. Even though he's my favorite player (and has been since 2007) even I will admit that he can't do everything. Ortiz used to be "that guy" in the clutch, but the torch has been passed and Jacoby needs some help. Just because the pitching and defense has croaked, that doesn't mean the offense can follow suit
