I disagree, Tavarez does whatever the team needs and is pretty important when we need someone to mop up. His ability to pitch long relief and make spot starts give him good versatility and make him an important arm in the pen.

I'm too lazy and clueless to look up the stats, but I have a vague memory that Tavarez used to be pretty good his first time through the opposing lineup. A good trait to have for a long reliever. He's had some good appearances. Last one was... uh... I'll get back to you...

He should be keeping us in games.

Moss is probably going to be the center of a package that brings in a reliever at the trade deadline.

 

I could see Fuentes coming to Boston, for a trade similar to the Gagne one in 2007.
