I have a football game tomorrow, so I have to go to sleep now. But I want to leave you all with one last thing:

You can all whine and sulk as much as you want, but that doesn't change the fact that there are still 2 games left in this series. Yeah, this loss hurts. A lot. I don't blame those of you that want to cuss your ass off and/or put your fist through a window. I don't blame you. By all means, go for it if you need it. But take a deep breath and calm the f*** down when you're done. No one knows how much tonight sucked more than the players do. We have Beckett going tomorrow. His numbers against them this year don't mean s*** right now. All that matters is that he goes out and pitches like he knows how to pitch. Because when he does, he's untouchable. Everyone go to sleep, save your breath, and wake up tomorrow morning knowing that Beckett is going to be absolutely firing right out of the gate. This was a wake-up call. Everyone stop feeling so sorry, and grow a pair. Like I said, I don't blame you for feeling s***** or anything, but don't you all remember?

IT'S f***ING ON, **********S.

Yup. 2 of 3. This team ain't takin no more s***.

2-3' date=' let's make that s*** happen and make the Yankees wish they never did this to us tonight.[/quote']

This is what I'm trying to say. The Red Sox aren't taking anymore of this s***. They know they just got embarrassed on national television. It isn't happening again. Good night everyone.

getting swept in NY wasn't a wake up call? 21 year old Joba Chamberlain showing up the Sox in a 5-0 game by throwing at Youkilis twice in a row wasn't a wake up call?

These guys need more than a wake up call, they need talent. Having Kielty and Drew in the starting outfield of a playoff contender is a joke. The bottom line is we still should have won this game but the Yankees wanted it more. They know what it takes to win and when the games matter most they win.

When the games matter most the Red Sox give up 6 runs in the 8th inning. Okajima's fried (hasn't pitched well in weeks) and Papelbon sucked today. The Red Sox vaunted bullpen is a pile of crap.

this sucks.

What part of the Yankees bitch slapping us on our home turf against our top two relievers, then making 8 easy outs (keep in mind the Red Sox only reached base on a dropped strike three and an error in the last 2 innings) makes you think the Red Sox "ain't takin no more s***?"

The only bright side is that the Red Sox will still be 2.5 games up on Monday.

2 innings of bad pitching isnt a cause to throw their accomplishments in the shitter

christ

it sucks but consider its .0499% of the schedule

these guys havent forgotten how to play

they may have forgotten what a lead looks like late in the game however

Damn dude ease up, after 1 game the last 2 games are already being marked up as losses? Do you even expect them to make the playoffs?

Don't want to rub it in, but damn that was one of my favorite wins of the season. Let's keep it up this weekend against "plays the game the right way" and ham sandwich.

Too bad this game doesn't mean much overall. Great win for the Yankees, we have now beat the crap out of pretty much everyone in your rotation and bullpen in the last four meetings. We all but gift-wrapped this game for you guys, and you couldn't win it.

If we get out of the first round, the Sox are done. We know it, and so do you. You better pray we face the Angels in the first round.

You're getting a lot of mileage out of 2004. Not like we can't use pretty much every year, 1978,1999,2003, and last year.

I've said this before, I'll say it again. You guys don't match up well with us. You make the World Series if we get knocked out. If we face you, you're done.

Haven't you eaten enough crow this year, buddy?

you only need 1 of 3, and that is what I think you will get. In order for us to win the division, we need to sweep you guys, then hope we can gain two more games in the L column in 2 weeks while both of us play cupcakes. If we lose one measly game in this series, you guys finish this series with a 4 game lead in the L column and will virtually seal the deal barring a monumental collapse against the most pathetic teams in the game.

I still like the chances of the Sox offense against Roger Clemens whose iffy to start because of ligament damage in his elbow. Even tomorrow' date=' yes the Sox are facing Wang, at the same time our ace is taking the mound probably fueled up by being the stopper[/quote']

Last time we played, I predicted that the Wang-Schill game would be low scoring when nobody thought it would be since you guys had owned Wang and Schill was shaky prior to that. Let me go out on a limb here and say today's game will be a barnburner and tomorrow will be a pitcher's duel. Sounds like fun.

Seriously Gom, we win last night's game 99/100 times. We match up fine with the Yankees. Remember also we are playing without Manny Ramirez, for the last month and the last three games against New York. If you don't remember corectly I believe he plays pretty well against you guys the last time I checked.

That game didn't mean much overall for the Yanks? If they had lost they would be only 2.5 games ahead of the Tigers. It meant a great deal.

If the Yankees had lost, three games in the loss column with a 10 game homestand coming up. Nope, really doesn't mean much. It's nice to bitch-slap the Red Sox as always, but in the overall scheme of things, it doesn't mean much.

Unless you are blindly follow the insane rantings of ORS, then the answer is no.

Here's a question for all you Sox fans. Out of the potential playoff teams, us, Guardians, Angels, Tigers....is there any doubt which team you fear the most? We don't match up well against the Angels, you don't match up well against us. Remember, if we tie for the division, we win based on our record against you.

We hit your pitching better than you hit ours. Against each other, our closers are a virtual wash, we both beat the crap out of Rivera and Papelbon respectively. The only one who hasn't been hit is Chamberlain, but he will be hit by you. We have a much better offense overall, and much better overall team speed. Pitching is pretty much a wash. No matter what, you can't 86 years of futility with one series. See the 1955 Dodgers.

We can't beat the Angels. I don't think you guys have a chance to beat us. The only way we don't make the World Series is if we face the Angels the first round.

Sox will finish 86-76, I loved this thread coming out shortly after the season started

Best of all was you the fair weather fan counting out the Yankees back in f***ing May. Now youre acting all high & mighty, as if youve been by their side for every single pitch of the season

Love it. I can always look forward to having the Yankee trolls beat out their chest.

Whatever, win today. I'd make the next f***ing GT if I could.

I didn't think they would do it. I admit that, and I readily have already. If I was preaching they'd come back when 14.5 down, you'd think I was insane.

I've been on their side on every pitch since 1982. Doesn't mean I think they're going to win every time, but I don't give up on the team. I give up on their chances. I admit I did. Wasn't the first time, won't be the last time. I remember giving up on their chances with two outs in the 9th inning against Arizona with Brosius at the plate when I was at the stadium. It happens. Actually, the only one here I remember saying the Yankees weren't dead was Schillingouttheks. What I believed, and what I hoped for were two different things. There's a difference between being a fan and being logical. In case you didn't know, the fan comes from the word fanatic.

I seem to remember after a certain five game series last year, the great majority of you guys quit on your team too. You didn't stop rooting for them, just conceded the division. Who knew your team would tank so bad they wouldn't even make the wild card?

Theres a difference between counting out the team's chances in May (still time to make moves) compared to a depleted team in early September
