True but Rivera didnt have to hurry up in the pen' date=' and then come out with runners on 2nd & 3rd/no outs[/quote']

Right, you're kind of proving my point. But it worked out anyway for the Yanks.

The Yanks are going to sweep this series.....mark my words

I still like the chances of the Sox offense against Roger Clemens whose iffy to start because of ligament damage in his elbow. Even tomorrow, yes the Sox are facing Wang, at the same time our ace is taking the mound probably fueled up by being the stopper

unless we miraculously come back, this will be my last post of the night.

I would just like to say, if ever there were a way to piss off an entire fanbase, tonight was it. I went into to this game with the mind set that we had to win a mere one game, and I thought we would take care of that tonight. It's not so much that they are going to lose this game, it's how they are going to lose. If the Yankees weren't in the head of the entire Red Sox nation, they are in there now. I do not feel good about tomorrow or Sunday's game as a result of this. I'm passionate about sports, but this team is killing my passion. I've already had to deal with the Patriots and their cheating ways this week, this seemed like a good way to go into the weekend. All I can say is, thank god for the wild card, cause we may need it after this series.

This was an ugly, pathetic loss, and I'm sick of them always happening when the Sox play the Yankees.

Beckett stops the bleeding tomorrow and we take 2/3 after this wake-up call...mark my words. I still even feel that we have a good shot at winning this game. This night could be one of the best things to happen to this team.

I wouldn't be surprised if you end up being right, but I just have a different gut feeling.

I think I've broken the Guinness book for saying f*** and kicking things in a 20 minute span. This goddamn team. I curse my father and his father's father for bringing all this frustration and annoyance into my life. I want to be one of those people who don't care. Just for a few days. One of those...oh I don't watch sports types. The laissez-fair I don't follow baseball but I've heard of your team. Crap. No, I don't they are dull. But, maybe just for a goddamn day. So I can have some peace in this otherwise tortured life.

I understand your frustration, but just calm down. Beckett stops the bleeding tomorrow. No one knows better how much the Red Sox sucked tonight than the players themselves. They'll right the ship. Get a good night's sleep and wake up tomorrow morning with the mind set that tomorrow's a new day.

Assuming this score holds' date=' I'm dying to see how some people figure out a way to blame this loss 100% on JD Drew. You know someone will figure out a way.[/quote']

I blame it on weak pitching. For the most part tonight the Sox had a reasonable offense. I think Matsuzaka did well. 2 earned on 4 hits is easily made up for, which it was. Our bullpen tonight wasn't what it usually was. Starting with Timlin. After that things started to fall apart. Surprisingly from Okajima, who was suppose to shut down the Yankee bats. And watch of all people, Gagne is gonna hold them and we're gonna come back in the 9th to win this.

Beckett couldn't stop the bleeding in New York what makes you think he will do it in Boston?

Irrational blind Red Sox fandom, that's what. Beckett is the new Pedro-- awesome against everyone against the Yankees, can't win any big games.

Past a lollygagging Cano, to the tune of, "Past a diving Jeter." They seem to happen with equal frequency.

EDIT: Even better, "Past a styling Cano."

I've been one of the biggest hard-asses on this team throughout the entire season. I had a feeling that Matsuzaka was going to come up big tonight, and while it wasn't the prettiest start he's ever had, he came up pretty damn big. He had all sorts of trouble with New York this season until tonight. I really don't have irrational blind Red Sox fandom, and many people on the board will tell you that. Come on, I know you don't come here as often as you did a few years ago, but don't you at least remember what I stand for?

Beckett came up pretty big about 4 years ago, I'd say... I know that's moot, but I'm just sayin...

Also, Beckett's a gamer. I have 100% confidence that he's going to come out with guns blazing tomorrow. He's been the ace of this team the whole friggin year. It's time to see what he's made of, and I think he'll respond quite well.

Drew hasn't exactly done anything good today. The man isn't to blame today, a 7-2 lead the Red Sox should have held on, but the man is completely worthless.

I'd love to see some outside the box thinking here. Kielty hits much better RH, and historically, because of the cutter, Fruitbat tends to get hit harder by RH batters. Kind of like how some switch hitters will bat RH vs Wake.

Nevermind.

I can see it now...

WE LOST THIS GAME BECAUSE DREW DIDN'T HIT THE GAME-TYING HOME RUN IN THE BOTTOM OF THE NINTH!!!!!1111

I already explained my reason for us losing tonight. Prehaps you should go back and read it.

I'm not blaming Drew.

He did his job to knock in an insurance run, and get the ninth started on the right foot. I'm pleased with his performance tonight, along with his month of September.

I didn't mean to make that sound like I was mocking you. I'm just talking about people who bash Drew incessantly in general.

I honestly forget what you used to stand for-- and I only come on these days to bitch and moan because misery loves company-- I'll admit that.

However, Beckett hasn't won a single big game for the Sox-- and until he does he isn't a big game winner. He had a chance to prove he was the ace of this team in New York and he got outpitched by a washed up Roger Clemens.

This team has no heart. It is 100% JD Drew's fault. ;)
