God Curt, just shut up, shed some weight and win ballgames. What a friggin blowhard. I dont care how well he pitches for the rest of the season, I am tired of the negative attention he draws to the club.

Hey Curt, STOP STATING THE OBVIOUS. Everybody knows they cheated......why bring it up time and time again?

Posted
Good for him' date=' no one else has the guts to say anything[/quote']

That doesnt mean that Curt has to speak for everyone else, once a week. Face it....he is the Gary Sheffield of pitchers. Writers and hosts love the guy because he has diarrhea mouth. Him and Sheffield both.

He is just repeating what we already know and think. There is no reason to beat it like a dead horse.

I am not comparing the types of characters either, beucase Schilling really is a good guy......I am comparing the fact that writers know that they can go to these guys to get them to say something outragaeous.

I wish he would just keep his mouth shut.

The only difference between Schilling and Sheffield is that Schilling is actually a smart person. the stuff he says is generally true but there's a reason athletes rarely say anything controversial, its a f***ing distraction and now that this will blow up, we can all expect another apology on 38burgers.com

in 04 before he even hung his clothes he followed a guy 10 miles after a game and called the cops and had the dude arrested for a dui..i dont care what your position is on driving under, nobody sane recommends it or would allow a loved one to do it etc but to go out of your way in order to get a guy locked up,lose his license and absorb over 5k in costs before trial is in itself a hatefull thing to do

i wasnt a witness but curt said the guy was all over the road and a threat to the public..

thats his story and he made the herald for it and came off as a superhero?

i dont like that s*** personally and i think that if you follow a guy for that long you are a stalker and a man looking for trouble as opposed to the good samaritan he was played out to be....

if he cost me that kind of coin, that embarassment and my license i may have had to kill the prick just to sleep at night knowing he was comfy and at peace while im waiting for the bus in the rain....

he gets a pass on that because nobody wants to share the road with a drunk but what if the guy was sober or under the limit or just over the limit??

mind your own fuking business i feel because some day you maybe on the other side of the road....

anyways

he called out scott williamsons courage 48 hrs before williamson had his 14th operation on his arm ending his season and essentially his career...

the crucifix thing annoys me??

the more one proffesses his faith in christ publically the more i question his commitment and knowledge of christianity

keep it to yourself and if you feel the need to wear your cross thats fine

dont wait for the cameras and kiss it in front of 40,000,000 fans when the lites are on for chrissakes...

i got a huge gold cross that ive owned for 25 years but no one outside my family or my beach friends has seen it because its not bling or a good luck charm as much as it is a symbol of my personal faith which i dont stuff down anyones throat publically.

i think hes grandstanding when he kisses it for the camera and thats wrong

then he said if he could reelect bush or win the title he'd go with electing bush

that in itself isnt so bad but the prick is pitching in boston where the other candidate lives

ok

that got a pass because this was heard after he did his miracle sock thing and at the time he couldve run for anything here and won because we were champs and he risked his career and brought it home as he predicted in the ford commercial

this year he starts in on bonds cheating on both his wife and the irs??

really suck ass ******** and completely over the top nonsense

he can pick on over 1/2 the league for infidelity but he joined in on the bonds beatdown and looked like an ******* in doing so

then this summer he and his wife start some type of joint venture with the movie theater

they come out fighting against skin cancer but they do so by recommending kids stay indoors and more specifically they should be going to the theater and eat popcorn and swill cokes for 5.00 a head??

something along those lines was stated

evidently he isnt in tune with the obesity epidemic out there or if he is he isnt interested in it

anyways

day by day word by word he comes off as a self absorbed holier than thou self righteous cock sucker and 99.9% of the oral diareah was completely avoidable if he considered his words b4 he spoke

i want to meet him and thank him sincerly for those 10 days and his personal sacrifice in 04

i dont want my 1st words to be WHY DONT YOU SHUT THE f*** UP

A few weeks ago I followed a drunk driver for 6 miles talking to 911 because they were unable to get a police car to come and pull him over. We even went past the Police station and they still did not have a car to come pull him over. This guy was ALL over the road. Several times I backed off thinking he was going to head on someone. I have lost family and friends to Drunken drivers. I applaud what Curt did. Same goes for his talking about Bonds. Someday the truth will come out. It's only a matter of time. I'm sure he's paid Anderson enough not to talk but the longer he rots in jail. The less that money will mean to him.

I hope to hell he hit his HR at Dodger stadium. The love and acceptance he so craves will not be there.

Crunchy...you're totally off-base on these points. I agree with you in that Curt should keep his mouth shut more often than he does...but hating on a guy for helping get a drunk driver charged? Be real, man. Curt's got a wife and kids and loved ones out driving on the same roads that we do...he doesn't want a drunk ass out there and neither do I. You've got so many athletes out there who feel that society has a responsibility to them rather than the other way around...how you're not singing his praises for doing something like this is beyond me. Generally speaking, someone that is "just over the limit" as you stated (not that I condone driving 'just over the limit', but I digress) is pulled over for something else like running a red light or speeding, and only then is it found out that they are intoxicated; it is not blatantly obvious to other drivers sharing the road with them. For Curt to be able to recognize that someone was, indeed, wasted while driving home, I have a feeling that "limit" you spoke of was reached and exceeded much earlier in the evening.

With regards to his faith and kissing the crucifix...until you've spent a day with him and know how he lives his life when the camera is off of him, you're in no position to determine what he's doing for fame and show and what he's not. Faith and religion are very unique things in that each individual has their own concept as to what they are and how they should be celebrated; because you go about your faith and religion in a different manner than he does not make him wrong and you right. Questioning how he goes about displaying his affections to what he believes is extremely trite as it challenges everything that your religion speaks to.

Overall...Curt talks too much. I don't have anything negative to say about what he said to Costas because Costas asked him his opinions. When he gets out of hand is when he runs his mouth in a forum where it was not asked for. If you don't want to hear what he has to say, don't watch the show.

a question for the esteemed members of the panel.

if a stranger follows you for from boston into your driveway after 11pm what is going to be your reaction when you park?

i know my reaction isnt going to be civil,in fact it would more than likely felonious.

nobody here is advocating drunken driving and when its all said and done i will have buried more friends from dui than cancer.

thats not the point here.

my point is curt schilling is a grandstanding ********** who probably told the herald about his heroical capture of this menace to society himself, why else would the herald report a dui from medfield on its front page??

if you want to investigate every ******* who is driving like an idiot after dark you will be a very very busy man and eventually you will catch a f***ing beating or worse for your good intentions

and justifiably so.

when did we become a nation of nosy good doers instead of people who mind their f***ing manners??

what else do we do?

call the cops on the lady who is tuning up her brat in k-mart.

(why do women who shop kmart wear flipflops and short shorts despite their 400lb frame)

report our neighbors for stealing cable

tell on the 2 teenager kids walking hand and hand into the woods?

report the smell of weed coming from your neighbors cookout??

tell the rabbi that mrs rosenfeld turned her lites on during yom kippur??

call 911 because the young couple living next to you are fighting over the linen patters and it may get ugly??

i feel that this stunt with the dui,his election comments in kerrys hometown and all his other moves of stupidity are simply more grandstanding from a guy who wasnt paid attention to by his mom@dad nearly enough.

a classic case of an attention starved athlete who will never be comfortable without the lights on him.

Crunch

Glad to see you haven't stopped speaking your mind! Kudos to you!!! As for Schilling, put a microphone in his or Gary Sheffield's face and you have instant self-gratification, usually at someone else's expense. Who made these two the spokesperson's for the MLB? It's great to have an opinion, but when you are paid like these guys are and have the celebrity status that they enjoy, you would think they would know when to shut up or make no comment about issues where they have no first hand facts. Funny when Curt earlier this year commented that he would have loved to have Clemens on the Red Sox and that he (Schilling) didn't need to be in the spotlight. If this were true why does he continue to put himself in the spotlight with his opinions in the media.

Crunchy, i understand that you hate shill....but don't let the hatred obscure your better judgement. I don't care who it is, I have a wife and young children...and if there's a drunk on the road, or someone who is being reckless; then i applaud anyone for going the extra mile to make sure their off the road. Shill doing this not only got the guy off the road then, but in the future as well...who knows how many lives, ect... he saved.

You can hate and disagree with him, but it's classless to rip him for doing the right thing. If someone you know got killed by that same driver, and you knew shill could have done something, you would be ripping him for not doing anything.

Someone said it on this board once before, and I'm going to repeat it.

Who was it in Philly that said Curt's a horse once every five days, and a horse's ass the other four?

Ed Wade, former GM of the Phillies.

You know, I'd love to Schilling sign with the Tigers after his contract is up. Between him, Sheffield, and Kenny Rogers, is would probably be the most entertaining clubhouse since the Bronx Zoo.

You can't possibly think these are remotely the same. No one is in significant danger in these situations...let alone everyone on the Mass Pike.

Schill's the kind of guy who is love me, hate me, but don't ignore me. His personality demands that he be in the spotlight even if he has no bearing on the situation at hand, that's just who he is. I think it's pretty refreshing myself, only because he usually makes me laugh with some of the asinine comments he makes. Long live Curt!

I'm not sure if anyone saw this but Bonds called out Bob Costas. Costas replied by saying "As anyone can plainly see, I'm 5-foot-6 1/2 and a strapping 150, and unlike some people, I came by all of it naturally."

Yea I did see that...fantastic comeback. Bonds has to learn that it's not a good idea to put someone on blast who has an IQ a solid 100 points above his own...Bonds got owned.
