I was sitting at home in front of my TV in the first inning and I said to myself, Beckett is gonna have trouble tonight. Why you ask?

 

Because the first 2 curves he threw nearly went to the backstop. He did snap off a few good ones, but it was clear that he didnt trust his curve tonight. That led to him sitting heat and getting smooshed. 6-0, 2 on, Francis out of the game. If the sox dont score this inning, then I think it is done.

he is smart. He knows he is dealing with a sleeping giant. He's not sure if they are going to wake up in the next 2 innings, so he needs to scratch as much as he can.
