A quick homestand versus the NL West and I'm thinking the Sox come up big over these 6 games. Tonight's matchup:

Cook (4-2) vs Wakefield (5-7)

Time for a home COOK-ed victory, I think. We're feasting on the Rockies tonight boys, and Manny will be firing-up the grill:

Tonight there can be no more excuses for Wakefield; he has to step up and do a bang-up job, and the offense has to treat their pitcher better than an orphan by going out and getting him what he needs to win---a lot of what he needs.

he actually pitched well in his last game fred. Cut him some slack.

On another note, I was listening to WEEi today and they said that tom candiotti fixed something with Wake's delivery and he is pitching better. Dont know how true it is and if Helton smacks a couple out, it is likely hogwash, but we'll see.

I remember the last time the Yankees were in Colorado. It was in 2002. I think they won the first game 10-5, and then both teams doubled their scores in the second game. Some people were joking that the third game would be 40-20 lol.

Jacko, I will cut him all the slack he wants if he can go out there tonight and win one for the Towne Team, and here's hoping Candy Man did the right job with Tim. As for Helton, oh I wish he was in our uniform.

Hey guy's hopefully we will be able to score so Wake can have a cushion just In case Knuckler's not working. Just win baby.

EEI just announced the order and it looks like Tito has finally listened to the masses

Youk

Normally, I would agree but Pedroia has a confident demeanor. He seems like the type to embrace the chance to leadoff rather than let it affect his game, like Youk a year ago. The only thing I don't like is the lack of speed at the top.

I have got to say, I would rather have Pedroia in the 2 spot, just because of the type of hitter he is. Try someone different, sure, but Pedroia is doing fine in the 2 spot, and that is definitely what I thought he was destined for, a major league two spot. I didn't think he would get there this fast, but I also think he should stay in the 2 spot.

I agree with "Schil" and Jacko, Pedroia is better suited as the #2 guy. But huzzah for Tito getting the point and kicking Lugo down all the way to 9th!

No way we could keep Lugo at No. 1; he just wasn't hitting nor getting on base via walks. Speed or no speed you can't steal first base. Hopefully after a time down there he will be able to resume his normal leadoff spot when he gets his head cleared and starts hitting for us again.

Colorado sports a pretty decent lineup from the looks of it although if I remember correctly, Atkins has really struggled this season

Iannetta (their other catcher) is going to be just like Brian McCann next year. Just watch.

Better lineup, but I'd rather see Wily Mo. This would be my ideal:

Youk

Pedroia

Ortiz

Ramirez

Drew

Lowell

Pena

Mirabelli

Lugo
