Coco Crisp....the guy hits like a little b..itch. He is an automatic out....Deal him for whatever you can get... At this point...Ellsbury cannot do any worse. At least with Willy Mo you have the THREAT of the LONG Ball... Coco's only threat is a drag bunt...he is pathetic.

J.D. Drew...he is a pussy. He swings like a 90 year old man. No wonder they took so long to finalize his deal...He has perfected the "soft as a baby's ass" grounder to second.

I know..due to his ridiculous contract we are probably stuck with him. I hope he blows his shoulder out..at least we can be rid of him at minimal cost.

J.C. Romero....absolutely putrid... The guy walks more guys than he K's...his whip is above 2.00! He should be in AA with those numbers... He is a waste of space..I am sure he will be LONG gone when Timlin and Lester return...thank god.

Two guys I would love to see gone are Lugo and Mirabelli.. Wtf is Lugo's problem??? .220?? Are you freaking kidding me? $10 mill for a .220 hitter who is at best, an average defensive SS? I dont care how many SB's or RBI's he has..he has been absolutley horrific at the plate. Again...with his ridiculous contract..we are stuck with him.

Mirabelli is the biggest JOBBER in the big leagues..This clown hits at single A level. He has NO discipline and has a swing as big and long as his Gargantuan Shnozz. If it wasn't for Wakefield he would be selling condoms at 7-11.

I am also just about fed up with Wakefield...he has sucked real bad lately...and it would almost be worth getting rid of Wakefield to not have to see Mirabelli embarrass himself at the plate anymore. I think we are better off with Tavarez starting than Wakefield anyhow..I think Julian and Lester are better than Wakes.. Sorry if that is unpopular..but it is true..

We need to get a good backup catcher. Trade for Saltamachia from ATL or Damian Miller from Milwaukee...someone,..anyone...when Wakefield pitches we have to have 3 automatic outs in the lineup in Drew/Mirajobber and Choco Stiff.

Get a decent hitting backup catcher....and possibly deal Bowden/Murphy/Crisp/MDC/and Hansen for Ichiro or Tori Hunter... We have the team to win it all this year with a few adjustments.

JUST STFU. Everyone knows their struggling. What ever you think though, JD is stuck with us. I'm still waiting for Coco to come around, but Tito obviously realizes he is struggling and has been doing a good job recently working WMP into the lineup for Coco and Drew. Relax, changes will be made, but we are a winning team.

We go into a TINY funk and out comes the crazies.

I am just pissed off and venting. I am pissed that I have to work and stayed up for that s***. I am pissed that Coco Crisp hits like a 5th grade nancy boy. Drew is a joke. And pretty much everything I said was true....cept maybe Wakes..I love the guy...but he is frustrating as hell to watch...add to it the fact we get his big Shnozzed personal catcher who is better at preening in the mirror after games than hitting a fastball.

Give me a f***ing break. No one forced you to stay up for these 2 games. If you know ANYTHING about baseball, you should have expected a loss yesterday and realized that no matter what the matchup was today, we could still lose. It's called baseball. If you can't handling a loss, don't watch the game, because this team WILL lose at least 50 games, at the minimum.

Is it part of the Sox fans mentality to come apart?

I swear, Yankee fans have more optimism than you guys, and take a look at the standings.

Crisp- If they traded him I wouldn't cry(also wouldn't be surprised if he thrived in another city), but I won't fault the FO for holding onto him at this point.

Drew- Listen you can all talk about Drew being a nancy boy, if it wasnt for a freak injury(hit on wrist by pitch) the guys last 3 seasons would have been at 140+, which in todays game is nice. Everyone thought the guy would not give his all and lolly gag around, instead he didn't, he ran balls out into a wall just like Trot would have( and if the same thing happened to Trot that happened to Drew most of you would be giving him a free pass because of the effort), now because he played all out he fd his back up, and I defy anyone who has seen the replay to say that s*** didn't hurt or it wouldn't have messed up your back, we want to call him a pansy ass. You can't have the s*** both ways. I for one was already giving the guy a 1 yr handicap. Hes a career National league guy, there for hasn't played in most AL parks or faced any AL pitchers on a regular basis. Beckett even tho a pitcher went threw the same process last season. Everyone bitched and moaned because he struggle at times, While Hanley played great and Annibal threw a no no(btw hes sitting in the minors cause he was ineffective, in the national league). Now look at Beckett, we are reeping the benifits of him adjusting to the AL after one season. I wasn't expecting a hole lot from Drew in yr 1, yr 2 is were I want to see the numbers.

Romero- Ya hes a bum, not sure what they can do with him tho....

Lugo- Is stealing bases and knocking in runs, he just doesn't seem to beable to hit when no ones on base. As long as he knocks in runs, scores runs, and steals bases when hes needed to, then I think the Avg.(which isnt a great stat to judge someone by as we all have come to know) will come up. Hes playing a decent SS as well. A move in the batting order might help.

Dougie- Were stuck with him until Wake no longer pitcher, or we find another catcher that can catch the Knuckler and maybe hit .260, until then there really is no other option, unless we don't pitch Wake, and as he is a nice innigs eater on most nights, Id rather see him pitch then not.

You have to admit...when my team is 14 1/2 games out, that's one thing to throw in the towel. When you are 11 1/2 team ahead with the best record in all of baseball and then you lose 3 of 4, and you start to panic, that's a little absurd.

Good to be back.

in all honesty Gom, we arent back yet. I wont consider us back until we are within 5 or 6 games and Roger is actually pitching. Right now having DeSalvo or Igawa in our 5 spot and that is an automatic loss. And you cannot go on long stretches of consistency or even a big winning streak if 1 out of every 5 games is automatically a loss before you even play them. That puts a ton of pressure on the rest of the staff.

I forgot who were the ones who were dogging me when I said that Crisp would not perform well in Boston whent eh trade was first announced, but I know there were a lot of people :D

I bet this is causing his poor performance. I don't see a .300 hitter with fairly decent power become an anemic nine hole hitter in little over a year, without a physical problem.

I'm sure Varitek has a gazillion more injuries.

thats a nasty picture BTW.

And Jason Varitek has exactly what to do with the physical problems of Coco Crisp?

One performs at a high level (or used to despite his injuries), while the other doesn't.

one thing I do agree with is that we should trade for Saltalamacchia (yes, did that without looking at the correct spelling, hope its right lol)... Im not sure about Kottaras and Saltalamacchia is hitting pretty good, i think, well he's a hell of a lot better than Mirabelli, and the Braves pretty much need to trade him with a star catcher [McCann] who is younger than he is (i think)...

also, trade Pineiro I don't see him as being a great part of this team, he's not reliable...

that's it... wait for Ellsbury, trade Coco, Drew will come around and Lugo should be a lot better, the bats come out in the summer, happens every year...

I think you can discount the comments of the individual who started this thread, Gom. He speaks for...uhhhh..I'm not sure who he speaks for... but he's far from the voice of RSN.

This would make sense if the two players had the same injury.

That is a stretch, the guy has never stayed healthy, if he did not break his wrist then he would have missed games for other reasons. If a player's track record is pointing to him being injury prone and he did miss most of the 2005 season because he was injured, how can you make a claim that he would have played in 140+ games? Lets face it, if it wasn't the wrist in 2005 it would have been something else, just look at what he has done in the past. Please don't let his stats for last year fool you. Grady Little coddled him to 131 starts giving him days off, and only using him as a pinch hitter. The man never plays all out, and since he does have that injury clause in his contract look for him to really holding back to collect his paycheck.

So if all you are looking to get with 70 million is a player that can barely mange to play 130 games bat .280 and maybe hit 20 then he is your man, and Theo was right and everyone else in baseball is wrong. Personally I think the jacks would have been better spent teaching a dyslexic person how to play Scrabble.

Come on, it's not like a surprise with Drew is it? The book on him was immense talent and no heart. This was Theo's big mistake this offseason. I'm sure if you polled most Sox fans at the beginning of the season, even before spring training, as to who would be the big bust among the offseason moves, if there was one, it would have been Drew.

It's like us with Abreu. Afraid of the wall, not one to depend on but a cog in the wheel. We got spoiled with the half season he had with us, and now he reverts back to form.

Makes me wish we had Sheffield back.

Drew is to soft to play in Boston, I hope be blows out his shoulder. Crisp on the other hand has been excellent in the field and gives his all. I really hope Drew goes onto the DL for anything, Pena is a much better choice in left.

you're right' date=' Varitek has it much worse. My apologies to him.[/quote']

A broken finger affects the player's ability to swing the bat. Any injury to the hand will do that.

Besides, didn't Varitek hit like .240 last year?

I'm sure he had worse things than a broken finger when he was performing well. Damon played with a broken bone in his foot last year.

face it, some guys just weren't meant to play in NY or Boston. renteria was one, and now Crisp looks like one of those also.

The pressure hurts him so bad that he hits .60 points below his career average?

Not buying it.

Manager Terry Francona said Monday that Coco Crisp's left index finger is still hurting after undergoing surgery on it in September.

Crisp reportedly said that the injury still effects him when he swings left-handed. "As of a couple of weeks ago, he still felt it there," Francona said. Crisp originally injured the finger on April 8.

Renteria has a game winning hit in the World Series. Although I do not necessarily believe in the whole "this guy is clutch while this guy isn't" thing, I would say that pressure doesn't really effect him. Is it possible that he just had a bad year?

Crisp was really coming into his own while he was with CLE and then he got off to a hot start with BOS, although it was brief. After he hurt himself he hasn't been the same. That much is a fact.

Oh go f*** yourself you self-righteous **********.. I have been a fan for 27 years and I can count the # of games I have missed watching and or listening to on two hands.. I am pissed we spent $15 mill per year on Nancy Drew..sorry..I guess I should be twirling cartwheels and whistling showtunes out my ******* in celebration of Drew's wonderful performance through the 1st two months huh?? He is terrible. He has shown absolutely nothing,. His arm looks only SLIGHTLY better than Coco's for crying out loud...and he hits like a sissy-boy smurf.

Just because we are in 1st doesn't mean we should not look to improve.. It is painfully obvious where our weaknesses are and if we address them, and improve in those areas, we have a real good shot at winning it all. I think Theo will give these guys until the All-Star break to show what they have before he brings down the guillotine on a few of them. Romero will be gone within 2 weeks.
