Mussina's one of the few Yankees I don't hate but I must admit I'm loving every second of this.

7-1

Mussina's a whiny bigot and deserves exactly what he gets.

edit - Future HoF Chris Britton into the game now.

Moose did not help his cause today. I would think it would be unlikely for him to get back into the rotation unless the two rookies start to stink up the joint.

roto

Roger Clemens went for an MRI on his right elbow after giving up five runs in four innings and taking the loss to the Mariners on Monday.

According to Joe Torre, Clemens felt "grabbing" in the fourth inning. The Rocket is expected to miss at least one start, putting Mike Mussina back into the rotation.

Take the next 2 with better pitching matchups and it's all good. I didn't expect them to hit around Felix today in the first place. I hate day games.

I bet you didn't expect the Mariners to mash your pitchers either, though.

Oh goodie! I like the Moose.

You like the Hughes-Washburn matchup?

You like the Hughes-Washburn matchup?

I like it better than the matchup we had today.

Washburn has always been overrated in my book, and I think Hughes is set for a turnaround start this start. His Triple A pitching coach Dave Eiland has been called up to work with Hughes, and he said he noticed some things wrong with his mechanics.

Yeah, he'll probably tell him to avoid the 91 mph belt high fastball over the middle of the plate.

Yeah, but a lefty against the Yankees lineup is like automatic QS.

And with the way Hughes has been pitching...

Yeah' date=' he'll probably tell him to avoid the 91 mph belt high fastball over the middle of the plate.[/quote']

Mechanics and pitch selection are different things.

Bad mechanics lead to 91 mph heaters down Broadway.

This is my point. This pitching coach they called up is better than Guidry at spotting and fixing mechanical problems, some of which he already saw in Hughes. Which would lead me to hope that the 91 MPH pitches down the heart of the plate are a thing of the past.

What makes you say that he's better than Guidry at those things?

The fact that he watched Hughes pitch and spotted immediately what some problems were, whereas Guidry has been around him and has not been able to change a thing.

I really never liked the Guidry pick as pitching coach. I think he can handle a staff of veterans, but I don't like him with young arms at all.

the entire f***ing planet bet seattle yesterday despite their 8 game losing streak because clemens has become this predictable.

it would be horrible if he ended his career on this note

brian cashman stood pat on 7/31 because his biggest move was giving raja more money than any other pro baseball player

we almost lost suzy waldman that day in the bronx when raja enthralled the 55k in attendance and the millions watching on YES be announcing his return.

everyone was motivated

the yankees responded by losing 7 games in the standings in the next 3 weeks

raja is now 6-6 with 1 big win against boston under his belt along with some real suck ass performances

it would be tragic if his career were to end like this
