What the hell was with him falling to third base sometimes, and first base other times?

In any case, Clippard was very good. Threw strikes, had good command of the breaking ball and got through the game pretty economically.

Like I said yesterday, they're showing signs of life. This series against Boston is huge, and I think the Yankees will take at least 2 of 3. The pitching is definitely working in our favor.

Clippard is a prospect that most pundits write off because he doesnt have a 95 mph fastball. But he has very solid control, and plus curves and changeups. His K rate has always baffled people, but players chalk it up to a sneaky delivery that causes the 90mph heat to look like 95 and off speed stuff that is pretty sick. His curveballs are nasty. The loopy one looked more like a showme pitch, and the hammer was very good. I like Clippard. I am still of the thought that he is better served to spend the rest of this season honing his control in AAA, but so far so good. This young yankee pitching corps is really something to behold.

yeah

hes obviously an allstar in the making

how did he stay under the radar as they paraded stiff after stiff on the mound??

probably because he sucks heavy cock?

if they lost last nite someone wouldve been fired today

steinberger has been swallowing a lot of adversity lately but he hasnt had to give up the backpage to the queens from queens,a 3 game sweep by the mets wouldve been the end for someone

huge series for the yanks

the sox need 1 to keep the yanks 10 out

A guy with a career K/9 of close to 10 in 513 minor league innings does not suck heavy cock. And at 22, he certainly has a future in the game. He gets overlooked because he doesnt throw 95mph. He is very similar to Arroyo in that regard. Interesting delivery, durable, good control, average fastball, very good and deep off speed stuff. While he isnt set up for a coronation ceremony as the next yankee ace, he is certainly the kind of guy who projects as a middle of the rotation starter.

I do share your sentiment in terms of heads rolling. I dont think they would have done anything if they lost last night, but if we were swept in queens and lost the series to the sox, Torre would have been sent packing.

Congrats Jacko. My brother just got his results for the USMLE step one, and if the amount of studying he had to do is any indication of what you had to go through, you earned it.

Well, I will be at the game today, and if any of you are in New York, I have an extra if you guys want it.

f*** I coulda whooped your ass last night?

actually he has pitched pretty good in may thus far

He was still all over the place in the 1st. Hopefully he settles down.

DeSalvo throws one right down the pipe and Vlad takes him opposite field and brings in a run. 4-2 Angels, runners on corners with no outs for Gary Matthews Jr.

DeSalvo's lucky Vlad didn't take him yard. I mean, that was right down the heart of the plate.

The Desalvo myth is getting revealed.

Nah, he's trade bait because he can pitch 7 innings at the ML level.

Man I wish I didn't get banned from nyyfans.com

BTW Maybe Clippard was pulled because he sucked? AROD whiffs.
