Nice Farns, I knew everyone on the team wasnt happy about this clause. Im sure he's not the only one too. Great clubhouse chemistry they'll have as they try to fight their way out of that deep hole

Screw Clemens. I always knew he was motivated completely by the bottom line. He said he wanted to go closer to home and he he wanted to go to a winner, so he went to Toronto, a worse team than Boston and further from Texas. He welched on his contract in Toronto with the excuse that he wanted to play for a winner. The truth was that Toronto was not willing to extend and renegotiate his contract up to $15 million/year. Steinbrenner got word to Clemens that he would meet the price, so he was traded for Wells who won 19 or 20 for the Jays (Clemens won 13-14 for the Yankees). When he was with the Yankees, he cashed a $10 million check that was an advance on 2004. Of course, with the $10 million in hand, he took every retirement gift handed to him and then signed in Houston to become the highest paid pitcher in the game at $17.5 million/year. Then he started playing partial years at a prorated salary that was the highest for any pitcher in the game. All of a sudden being close to home doesn't matter, so he goes to the Yankees who bid against themselves to get him. We offered $18 million. They offered $22 million at first, but felt compelled to increase the offer to $28 million. I would have rooted for him in the Boston uni even with full knowledge that he is a complete whore. Good riddance to him and I really don't care which hat he wears on his HOF plaque, because that will also be for sale.
