Sadly Hughes and Clippard arent on the 40 man roster. The one person on the 40 that I think will get the call is Chase Wright. Hes off to a great start in AA.

that is an amazing start.

I have a feeling that they might call up Villone and move Rasner into the fourth starter spot. That would set him up for Tuesday against the Guardians. By the time they need a fifth starter again Karstens should be ready.

BTW, if this isnt an invitation for you guys to jump out to a huge lead in the division, I dont know what is. Once we get totally healthy and get into the warm weather/ dog days of summer when the bats are all goin well and the arms are throwin well, we will be tough to beat. Better build that lead now.

I don't wish ill on the players' date=' just the team. These guys are dropping like flies. I want Hughes to come up, I wanna see the future, even if he dominates.[/quote']

I dont want to see him yet. He isnt perfected yet. I dont want to leave anything to chance.

You sound like a crazy professor that creates Frankenstien; "He isnt perfect yet, dont let him out!"

The Yankees originally claimed that Matsui was not going to be DL'd, so I'm not yet convinced that he is not going to eventually wind up on the DL or that this is not serious. We'll see. So far it looks like they lucked out on this one but anything can happen. Rasner, back in the cold weather (for whatever that's worth), against a strong Cleveland offense is probably going to be a recipe for disaster on Tuesday. However, I'll worry about this weekend before looking ahead to the Cleveland series.

why cant a guy like Rasner pull a hammy and Mussina stay healthy?

Sean Henn will take Mike Mussina's slot in the rotation likely meaning that the yankees will not adjust their rotation for the off days. Please' date=' Joe, go away.[/quote']

Late April fools joke?

Any idea what the Yankees will do with the rotation (who will start each game) on a day to day basis?

not sure. To this point, all I know is Igawa, Pavano, and Pettitte in Oakland.

OK. Here's what I don't get. If Mussina is only going to miss one start, why do they need to insert someone else in the rotation? I didn't think that they were going to need a fifth starter for a couple of turns through the rotation. So, why wouldn't they just insert Moose back in the rotation, after this turn through, and then, by the time they need a fifth starter, Karstens should be ready. Maybe I'm not seeing this right, but the way I'm looking at it, Rasner will only have to make one more start and Henn will not have to make a start (obviously this is assuming Mussina and Karstens both comeback when they're scheduled to).

I think its looking more and more like Mussina will be DL'd.

Ugh, well that would explain it. This season is certainly off to quite a strange beginning. It would be a big boost if Igawa could rebound from last Saturday and produce a solid effort tomorrow. I would feel a lot better in the short term if he did that.

Keep his spot on the Dl warm. He'll be there before too long.

when interviewed he said that he never pulled it. Just felt it tighten a little. He threw 2 more pitches, didnt feel anything, but when he left the mound to cover the bunt, he felt it tighten a little. He decided to come out before he pulled it. For once, a guy decided not to be macho and cost us some time. I am happy with what he did.
