The bottom of the lineup is still a problem. In the second half last year it was a black hole that swallowed up rallies and I don't see much improvement.

Tek, Lowell, Crsip, Pedroia > last year's 6-9

With the only difference really being Pedroia > Gonzalez, care to tell me how a 35 year old catcher will rebound from a horrific year?

exactly that, it was horrific. Its not unthinkable to imagine Tek hitting above .238 with more than 12 HRs. I look for Tek to ahve somewhat of a Lowell-type vindication and get abck on track. Im not saying hes gunna be an all-star but he could very well hit .270 with 15+ HRs.

On top of that Crisp this year > Crisp last year for obvious reasons. And as you said Pedroia is most likely an improvement over Gonzo. Already you have 75% of our bottom 4 improving over last year.

Personally I haven't seen 35 year old catchers have a good turn around year to plug back up .040 BA points. Varitek is done.

Crisp should be better, as I'm still a big supporter. Pedroia > Gonzalez. But I don't see Lowell repeating his first half performance again.

That remains to be seen, and if Pedroia doesn't hit, we gave up the best fielding Red Sox SS that I have seen in 40 years for nothing.

I wouldnt say that just yet, I hear Pedroia is a top notch fielder... but that's yet to be seen...

I'd feel much better with Drew in the 2nd hole and Helton in the 5th hole. I don't like Youk in the 2 slot. He k's too much and is too slow. He will kill lots of rallies with DPs.

Drew K'd just as much as Youk did last year so I don't really get your point about the strikeouts being a big deal for Youk. We don't have Helton and we're not getting Helton so it doesn't really do us any good to say you like the lineup with him in it more. I like the Sox lineup with Miguel Cabrera in it to but it isn't happening.

Tek- .250 14 hrs 47 RBI

Coco Puff- .273 11 hrs 55 RBI

Lowell- .278 12 hrs 65 RBI

Pedroia- .273 5 hrs 40 RBI

Those are my predictions for the bottom half of the lineup...

Ivan Rodriguez boosted his BA 24 points at 34, Mike Piazza at 37, it's been done.

too much power on Coco.

too little power on Lowell.

too high a BA on Vtek?

I think you are dead on with Duddy.

Why is it too much power on Coco? He hit 8 and missed almost 60 games last year.

i like crisp to turn it on this year

miserable effort last year and if its true about the finger being as fkkd up as they say then theres no reason he cant hit 20 this year

that said

this spring has been abysmal, for many

i just hope that crisp does improve and im hoping that ellsbury will be his motivation to do better

well that could go either way, Ellsbury's gonna play how he plays no matter what Crisp does, but he might be more motivated if Crisp sucks because he knows he has a shot of replacing him, but he knows that already anyway...

he was extended last year for 3 years

short money

just remember,he missed 60 games? with the finger,he came back and sucked then he had surgery on the same finger when the season ended

the man couldnt swing the bat with anger and that will f*** up your game

lets see how it fukked his head up

look at foulke

he left 5M on the table rather than pitch,im wondering if the sox fans made him daffy

I bet the fan did it to Foulke, they booed him horribly, $5 million is a lot to walk away from but Foulke is probably all set for the rest of his life, if hes smart with his money...
