I was just wondering what is the most distant memory you have of the Red Sox? Such as going to Fenway when you were little or watching the '86 World Series, or anything you can think back long ago to.

My most distant Sox memory is way back in 1993 when I saw Mo Vaughn knock a homer over left/center on the tv with my dad and grandpa.

Meaning you're 17 or 18...and you're going to be in AAA next year....mmkay.

Well I know yeszir was born right outside of Fenway in a cab:lol:

Uhh I saw Pedro pitch in like 1998 against the Yankees

EDIT: Oh and when Bryce Florie got nailed in the eye...I was there.

Youre story isnt holding up well. Like at all. I knew something was wrong when you thought a Schilling/Becket combo would equal the greatest pitcher of all time.

But I was at the Metrodome for my first baseball game and saw Pedro steal a candy bar from the Twins bullpen and taunt some kids with it.

I remember going to a game the day that Mantle died (maybe the day after?) with a friend's family.

My clearest earliest sox memory is Troy O'Leary NAILING a dude in the face with a foul line drive (I was at the game) and knocking all of his teeth out. I promptly exclaimed to my baby sitter that O'Leary should have been called out for hurting the guy.

edit: Yea, I'm young.

My earliest sox memory is my first homer i saw at fenway, by Jose Canseco, him and Mo went back to back but i was to busy chowing down on my first fenway frank when Mo hit his

My first memory of the sox is when Bernie Carbo and Rick Bureleson came to my home town to sign autographs. My first memory of a sox game was Carlton Fisk waving the ball fair as it sailed past the left field foul pole in game six of the 75 series.

Otis Nixon and Troy O'Leary. No earthly idea why. No certain event. But I just consistently remember watching Otis Nixon, mainly, and falling in love with baseball.

My earliest memory of the Red Sox was rushing home to see game 2 of the '67 World Series in time to see Yaz's second homer, and I got home to see game 6 that year. I remember wondering who Gary Waslewski was. I really didn't know him, because he rarely pitched that year. At my first Fenway Park visit, I got there for batting practice, and I remember I was shocked to see Yaz smoking in the dugout.

Not my first baseball memory, but it was funny. I can't remember if it was a WS game or an AllStar game, but I remember Luis Tiant was a runner at third base and he was seriously trying to steal home.

Story? I have no story. I've already said I'm 18. I'm not denying or hiding anything.

And what about Beckett and Schilling, In MY opinion, that's what I had suggested for a good pitcher. Am I not entitled to my opinion? Sure it's not the greatest combo in everyone else's view but to me I think it's pretty good.

Probably the part where you said you were going to be playing in AAA next season.

Friend of my grandpa works with the Zephyrs and they came and scouted me and want me to come in and play next year as a closer if I can get my arm strength up some more. If not then it's a first base I go.

And like I said, I was scouted from a friend of my grandpa's. I guess I must have talent if they want me.

I can throw in the high 80s, almost breaking 90 and I have a wicked 12 to 6 curve.

My batting could be a lot better though, that's my biggest problem and mainly why I want to remain as a closer pitcher.

Honestly, if you are going to be in AAA next year, there has to be something written about you. Do you have an internet article or something about you?

I guess Thumper found a loop-hole around that whole North American Amateur Draft that occurs every June. A HS kid good enough to close in AAA immediately, yet so unknown he won't get drafted? Sidd Finch lives!!!

If youre gonna lie about stuff like that, if you are i cant be sure, you should definetely start small. Like A or Rookie league or something.I mean its still impressive. You Gotta crawl before you walk.

And i didnt want to tell anyone, but since there is another ball player on the board........

OK, i'm Jon, Jon Papelbon. Thanks for all the kind words about me and all. I'm really looking forward to closing again this year.
