I bought it for the first time last season and as long as your computer streams video well, it's a damn good buy. I just bought for the 2007 season as well too

I got sick of only being able to see Sox games when they were on Fox or when they were playing the Blue Jays

You must not have looked very hard because its right there.

However, I have been a subscriber to both MLB.TV and MLB Extra Innings for the past 3 seasons. They are both great. MLB.TV has the advantage of giving you access to all games at all times. So, if I work late and miss the game (I'm in the west coast time zone) then I can watch the game after its done. Unfortunately, there's this weird thing where, when you're watching a game the day that they played it but after the game is over, you will get continually cut off from the stream after 5-10 minutes. You can re-start it but its annoying. Of course, the trade off is that you can watch games from 2005-present and can also listen to them on the radio.

If you have DVR and Extra Innings then I think that's the way to go. If you are a baseball fanatic then you should get one or the other or both.

the new version of mlb.tv doesnt look bad at all, its only $119.99 a year [not too bad] and the picture is good enough to fill the entire screen and not be blurry. also, they have a fantasy option which you can program players, and when they are at bat, they show up on the screen.

pretty cool, i think

I've also got MLB.TV for the last three seasons and it's always great and a good buy. I'd recommend it any time...

So... MLB.tv works now on Saturday afternoons? Since Fox started showing the Saturday Game of the Week I've been unable to watch any MLB games online during Fox GOW broadcasts because of national blackouts. But I just did a check online and can watch games right now (cubs, white sox, mets).

This must be new - and SWEET! I just assumed today I'd have to listen to the audio feed because it was Saturday but now I can actually watch the game!

The Fox broadcast is at 4:00 pm today, so I'm not sure that is accurate. We might be able to see the 1:00 pm games because they don't interfere with their exclusivity. The test would be to see if you can view a 4:00 game other than the one Fox is showing in your area.

EDIT: And, today's Sox game is a Fox GOW.

You are right and I'll find out. But the Fox GOW games are at 12:55 and 3:55 now. Last year I couldn't watch the 1:05pm or 4:05 games (anything between 1 and 6 pm) and I can now watch the 12:55s sooo.....

But you're right, we'll see in about 40 mins.

They just pump in a feed to a TV broadcast, usually the home team's coverage. Although, you do get Don and Remy for some of the road games. I'd say it's NESN about 60% of the time, with the opponent's broadcast the other 40%.

Well, two things. They'd better be good friends because they'd be able to see/change your account info and get some personal/credit card info on you. They could also inadvertently purchase stuff on the site and it's automatically charged to your account.

MLB.com restricts it to 5 browsers using the same username/password at once. I found this out last year when I was installing software on my new PC. I kept having to reboot after certain installs and kept forgetting to log out of MLB.com. After I had logged in 5 times without logging out it didn't let me get in anymore. I had to call MLB.com and have them reset my password.

If you are looking for another way to watch the Sox games download Sopcast they play every game on there.
