Same s*** over and over and over again. Its quite amazing. Carmona dug his own grave anyway. When you fall behind 2-0, Ortiz could just sit fastball cause there is no way in hell he wants to face Manny with the bases loaded. I'll bet most of his walk of shots come when the pitcher is either down in the count or even. Get ahead and keep the ball in on his hands. But I guess thats easier said then done.

It just baffles me that no one intentionally walkes Ortiz in those situations. I realize that Manny is in the four spot, but it is a no-brainer to put Papi on.

You cant put the tying run in scoring position esp with Manny coming up.

No its not. Its a no brainer if Loretta bunts the guys to second and third. In that case, with guys on 2nd and 3rd you set up a force play by walking him, keep the double play intact, etc., Loading the bases AND moving the runners up a base means that Manny simply needs a single to tie the game. Odds are that Manny will get a hit more often than Papi will get a homerun, ergo, pitch to Papi.

Over, and over and over again. That's why everyone keeps talking about Manny as being the glue that holds the Sox lineup together. The guy has a 1.000+ OPS and a .430 OBP. They will avoid Manny till the cows come home.
