Schill should have pitched the 6th, he had completly settled down. HUGE mistake by Tito tonight
Tavarez should have started the inning. JVB should never come in a close game.

If he is dicking around with a three team deal, the deadline might come and go with no deal. It's hard enough to get two teams together on a deal, never mind 3 or 4 teams.

with the yanks making a move today, they are better than us, Theo better get to frigging work

theo isnt gonna make a deal just because the yanks made one, but i have a feeling he has something up his sleeve...something "big"

Well "dicking around" with a 3 or 4 team trade is going to bring us the players we need. Would you'd rather trade players for less value than they're worth just to get something done?

Not that it was any big secret, but thanks to ESPN the Sox have basically exposed all of their flaws tonight on nationwide TV. That doesn’t help their bargaining position in any kind of deal.

Why does everyone on the boards jump to these absurd conclusions when there is the slightest criticism of the Boy King? Yes, of course I would love to make a trade where we get the short end of the bargain. I think my concern is legitimate as the deadline approaches. Three or four team trades often hit last minute snags. That's okay in January when you've got plenty of time. Hopefully, he'll pull something off. If not, maybe he should have had a different strategy earlier on. I get concerned when I hear analysts and writers say that insiders are telling them that Theo has been pursuing some crazy scenarios. But what am I saying. Theo will do what is best for the team. He always does, and he should never be questioned or criticized, even when he throws an off season hissy fit and quits his dream job.

I agree....most large deals at the deadline fall apart because they are too complicated. Its better to just shove money at the teams who are in the toilet and take there best players. Don't have to give up decent prospects or MLB players.

I just said that what you think is "dicking around" is actually trying to get the best trade. It's hardly like Theo is sitting there thinking "eh hey I got another day to kill ... I'll just keep f***ing around with this trade that will never work"

I'm not saying that we don't need to make a move ... I'm just saying that the last thing Theo is doing right now is "dicking around"

That will be determined by whether he gets a deal done and gets what the team needs. If he doesn't because a three or four team scenario falls apart, then he was dicking around. It's his job to get this done. If he doesn't, I really don't want to hear him whining like he did last year about the seller's market and the inflated price for pitching, etc. and we had to endure the likes of Chad Horriblevile and the embarrasment of Remlinger. If other teams can make the moves they need, he has no excuses if he doesn't

I gotta think that Loretta not in the game tonight has some significance trade-wise, more than just a night off.

That aside, I believe with Trot getting hurt on a bad swing (anyone else remember same thing happened to him a year ago in Tampa Bay??) that Trot and Wily Mo are off of the chopping block. Trot is likely to go to the DL, making Wily Mo the top choice to get ABs as the right fielder

Amen. I can't stand watching him hit behind Manny. He just doesn't protect him well enough at all. If WMP shows the power and protection behind Manny, say hello to the next best 3-4-5 behind Thome-Konerko-Dye in Ortiz-Ramirez-WMP.

Now will be people agree that Nixon is practically useless for this team except occasionally singles and solid defense in right. that is not good enough for this team right now and I believe WMP is an upgrade.

I don't think we'd have the next best 3-4-5 ... I think we'd have the best. The most feared hitter in the game, followed by one of the best hitters in the game, followed by one of the best young power hitters in the game ... how can you beat that? I'd take the 3 of them over the ChiSox Trio any day of the week.
