I'm getting really tired of Francona doing that. Craig Hansen pitches an excellent 1.2 innings but gives up an earned run to increase his ERA because Terry wouldn't let him finish his inning. Just let the guys get out of there own jams...he is warmed up, has a feel for the inning....bringing in another guy from the pen is a bad idea....you don't know if he has his good stuff

Hansen had good stuff and he has just as good a chance getting Huff out as a cold Lopez coming in for one batter.

 

I would expect these kids (Hansen, Delcarmen, Papelbon) to succeed more than they struggle....just let them fight through there inning.

I think the best part about it is that Maddon spent five minutes discussing exactly how to pitch and field Ortiz, and he turns around and hammers a fairly good first pitch.

We throw Lester, Beckett, Schilling at the ChiSox this weekend. I like our chances. I'm just concerned about Schilling and Beckett giving up road home runs. With the ChiSox lineup, it could get ugly real fast.
