EVERYONE. Is there a particular reason that we can't conduct discussions -- even very heated ones -- without filling every post with profanity??? Geez.

Base language language does nothing to help make a point. Never has. Never will.

Holy dumb f***, you're f***en right. No need for that s***.

I see your point point.

Maybe if you sprinkled in a little grammar grammar.

A double dose of good grammar is never a bad thing... even when it's a typo. :D

I'm not kidding myself at all. Their win today was a gargantuan G-I-F-T.

I think I'm missing something, because what I saw must have been different from what you saw. The Yanks actually showed some life. Proctor was lights out. Mo made them look silly. Phillips got a clutch basehit when the Mets line-up couldn't. I'm pretty sure the Mets didn't just lie down in their positions from the 9th inning on, so please explain to me how this was a gift.

If the Yankees wanted to they could bring up Hughes by SEPT. Hes a very polished RH

Yeah, that's not happening. The Yankees would be stupid if they were to bring up a 20 year old kid, and thrust him into a pennant race.

The kid hasn't thrown more than 100 innings in one year, and you want him to potentially double that by extending his season an extra two months? That's insane, and a bullet-proof way to severely injure an already injury prone kid.

When you look at it I would take about 4 yankees prospects over the next prospect after Pelfrey.

You probably don't know enough about the Mets farm system to make that point. You can bring up Tabata, but the Mets have a more complete version of him in Fernando Martinez. Phillip Humber is another potential dominating starting pitcher, and even Alan Soyer could make a splash at the big league level this year. Oh, but that's OK the Yankees have Colter Bean who throws an 86 mph fastball and is 29 years old. The rest of the Yankee farm system is in the low minors, we really can't tell what their future is, until they start hitting more advanced pitching.

I said if they wanted too I never said I would. His injury situation has been blow way out of proportion. Hes had one legit injury and that was "slight" tendinits last year. 2 Years ago they shut him down cause he stubbed his toe in a hotel room.

Tabata>Martinez ask any expert. Talk to me about Humber and his dominence when he recovers from TJ surgery and Solar is 26 years old and shouldnt be considered a prospect. s*** he signed with the Mets in 04 and didnt even pitch last season. Has he even pitched this season?

He's had arm problems, right? Think through this. A 20 year old kid, who hasn't thrown a whole lot of innings. You want to double his workload, and give him the ball in a pennant race? An injury is bound to happen. Hughes will be a great pitcher, but rushing him isn't going to help.

Again I never said bring him up. I did however say if the Yankees wanted to call him up in SEPT after he has those innings logged they could. Hes clearly moving fast and will prob be considered for the roto in 07. 1 slight case of tendinits doesnt concern me.

Actually, I did ask an expert, (Jim Callis) and he agreed with me.

From Callis', ESPN chat. I found the question on this website. http://ingeorgewetrust.blogspot.com/2006/05/moose-terful.html

pete, nyc: tabata or fernando martinez?

Jim Callis: Fernando Martinez

As for Soler, this is his first professional baseball season. (Cuban defector) I think he probably gets a break, due to the relative lack of miles on his arm.

Jim Callis is a noted Yankee hater. Hard for me to rank Solar over any Yankee pitching prospects since this is his first season. So again do the Mets have better depth then the Yankees? This is what the conversation surrounds. BA does not think so. They rank them 28th and the Yankees 17th.

EDIT: Preakness time! brb in a couple of minutes

You're missing my point, entirely. Hughes HAS NEVER logged those innings before. Any inning he throws after 80, would be his longest season as a pro. Now, you want him in the Bronx, after he has probably logged 120 innings. You figure you probably want him throwing another 20 IP for the rest of the season, and about 10 IP in the playoffs. That's 150 IP for a kid who hasn't thrown over 80 in a season. That's too much of a jump for a kid that young. More than likely, he's going to get hurt.

C'mon, don't kid yourself, the Yankees would probably go to you, before they would call up Hughes.

Hughes had the same thing that most kids get when they come up, dead arm. Hansen had it last yr and I dont think anyone here is calling him injury prone. The yankees are just a little more cautious than most...

Hughes wont get the call this yr. BUT, I expect him to make his debut next season when pussano pusses out again....

All right, I'm conceding victory to you. I would have missed the Preakness completely if it wasn't for that last edit.

lol it was a pretty uneventful one. Barbero jumped out of the gate and it looked like he hurt itself.

This is probably a joke, because people don't talk like this.

I don't often feel for animals, but that sucks for Barbaro. He went from potential Triple Crown winner, and retiring to a life of sex, to probably being put down. (due to the break)

Wow, that was immature. But it was a fabulous illustration of my point, nonetheless.
