How about this.

I know a lot of people still LOVE him. I know a lot of people don't want to see him again. But if Gonzalez doesn't do well, say at Mid Season, how 'bout trying to bring back Nomar. I don't want to start anything, but why not bring back some nostalgia and maybe recharge the team. I also know a lot of people say his attitude wasn't great in 04 before he got traded, and then the unbelieveable championship came to town, but come on. I would scream for 1 minute straight.

No way, Not possible, Not happening

Nomar is from California. He is happy and playing well with the team right now. He is still a huge injury risk and doesn't have the range to play SS anymore. There are reasons LA has him playing 1B.

Remember how he was before we traded him? He wasn't there for the team when we were working on championship run. Its like bringing back Drew Bledsoe to the NE Patriots.....nope.....good try though, you are thinking outside of the box.

Craig Counsell on steroids???

his 6'0" 185 lbs and has never hit more than 9 HR in a year. He does play GREAT defense and can steal bases. Also has a good career OBP, .347. Hes also hitting .300 this year.

The very idea of it goes against everything this organization stands for and seems both impractical and inefficent. Nomar's injury prone and, just because he's on a tear right now doesn't mean that he would be worth the numerous prospects that we would have to give up. Why even considering trading for him when we haven't even given one of our top prospects a shot and the major league level. It just doesn't make sense to drain our farm system of valuable resources, especially for a guy who would probably end up injured and who, by the way, doesn't even play an effective SS anymore. We should atleast give Pedroia a chance. Besides, there's no guarantee that Nomar would even want to come back.

I can't see Nomar playing SS again. In the case of coming he would come for playing 1B and we have Youk there playing very well so it is not worth. If we'd need a SS, maybe I'd bet for the Phillies SS Jimmy Rollins. Doyou think it would be possible?

i think he gave his best years to us when we had him...he will never play again like he did for us..he is always gettin hurt and we just dont need to take that risk

I do not think its possible because consider how many teams struggle with the SS position. Depth in that area is very hard to come by and in the Philly's case they do not really have a replacement for him.

If we were going to talk to anyone about a SS it would probably be the Angels, and as much as I like OC.....I want Brandon Wood.

First off, Nomar is impossible. The Dodgers wont trade him and he cant play SS. Rollins is probly not on the market. Wood is great, but I would agree with giving Pedroia a shot. If we were to bring someone in, Counsell sounds good to me, but that would require the Dbacks to fall out of contention or have a dire need of something we can give them

Dude...Nomar is leading the league in hitting. There's no way the Dodgers would deal him. I can see him, with enough at-bats, (which I know is a huge if for him) winning the batting title. The guy can still hit with the best in the game.

I think the Counsell idea is the best. He has a decent glove and speed. It would give us and even more experienced infield with Loretta, Counsell, and Lowell. Plus we might be able to get him cheap if Drew force the Diamondbacks to bring him up.

the d-backs won't trade him if they're in contention. Even if Drew comes up and is fantastic, the D-backs would be wise to keep him as a bench player where he would be very valuable.

Counsell is a very versatile player. He plays all over the field. He's played third, second, short, and I THINK first. He wouldn't be a bench player, he's too valued here. Probably end up being like Figgins, play everything but pitch and catch, because he's such a good athlete.
