There was plenty of reason to boo Damon (going to the Yankees being the obvious one) but Pedro gets a standing O. If I were at the game I would be cheering my ass off for that guy. He put up some of the best seasons EVER by a pitcher while with the Sox. Anyone who boos Pedro is a complete moron IMO.

And don't even try to compare Pedro to Damon please. Pedro was with the team longer, and even though both won a championship with the team Pedro is going to the hall of fame with a Sox hat. Damon was a great leadoff hitter who will watch hall of fame ceremonies on TV. Damon also went to the Yanks which means he gets booed until he leaves them. If Pedro went to the Yanks he would get booed too.

to answer your question mj..............absolutely NOT!

Pedro will get a thunderous standing ovation when he is introduced and when he takes the mound. period....and he deserves it.

I realize that, KeepTheFaith1229. Actually, I didn't join today, I've been on this site for a while now. I forgot the password to my previous account, so I made a new one, thank you.

I know there are a ton of Yankee fans on this site, and my last comment wasn't directly aimed for empirestrikesback26, but more for all of the Yankee fans inhabiting this site. In my opinion, it's ridiculous for Yankee fans to be on a site that is clearly for the Red Sox.

And don't talk to me like I'm an idiot, keepthefaith1229. You joined January 8th, I joined sometime last year. So, technically, I've been on the site longer than you have.

You know there's a password reset option, right?

I can't see any real fan booing Pedro. BDD has it backwards. Cheer Johnny and boo Pedro? My ass.

The worst thing about the Red Sox is how no player can seem to leave the team on a good note. I hope we can put the minute bad past with Pedro behind us and realize how dominant a pitcher he was.

If Pedro was offered the same money from the Yankees as the Mets he would have jumped at a chance to be in Pinstripes.

I’d like it if they showed a video compilation on the Jumbotron of some of his highlights while with the Sox. Moments like watching him push Zimmer to the ground or coming out of the bullpen in the 1999 playoffs vs. Cleveland and absolutely dominating would have to warm even the sourest fans.

the plain truth.

taking his best years in a Sox uniform and isolating them....he was the best pitcher I have EVER seen. Period.

too bad the "Fenway Faithful" is no longer predominantly comprised of "real fans"
