just wonderin. That wonderful dirt dogs site is advocating standing boo-vation....

I don't get how they chose to cheer Damon but boo Pedro. Their logic makes no sense to me. I say cheer both.

definitely cheer him. he was amazing.

I also happen to have tickets to the last game in the series. If he pitches, I will give him a standing ovation, and I am sure everyone else will too.

cheer pedro......and why would you believe anything dirtdogs says.....that site has no credibility and does not speak for red sox nation.

I thought it was pretty low of that site to say that. I was just wondering what sox fans thought of it.....

Had Pedro gone to the yankees I'd say boo him until you can boo no longer. But he made a respectable choice in going to the Mets. Cheer him until you can cheer no longer. He was the most dominant pitcher of an era when he was with the Red Sox, and there's no way the fans don't appreciate what he did for us.

Anyone who boos him is not a Red Sox fan. The man was the most dominant pitcher in Sox history (yes, even moreso than Clemens IMO), and possibly in all of the MLB.

Cheer him. Anyone who boos him should be shot.

I would hope nobody boos him. How could anyone be bitter about him leaving? He didnt exactly get the best treatment there towards the end. In fact I remember on several occasions (at least twice) he declared he was planning on leaving the Sox when he was a free agent because he couldnt take it anymore. One of those times took place a year and a half before he was a Free Agent. Had he gone to the Yankees, like he once said he wanted to do, then I would expect boos, but under no other circumstances should he be bood.

Arguably the most dominant pitcher of all time who had his prime with us and gave us his all? Who would boo this guy?

I think Sandy Koufax would have something to say about that. But he was the most dominant pitcher of my era, and that includes Clemens. BUT, Clemens is the best pitcher of my era because of his durability and longevity. If Petey goes on for 6-7 more yrs as he is now, then he will supplant Roger....

Yeah, there is no way Pedro should be booed. I understand booing Damon, booing Wells. It's the rivalry, and that take precedence over just about all other circumstances. Short of that, there's no reason to boo Pedro.

Cy Young?

Way better than Cy Young if you ask me. Cy pitched a lot and lost over 300 games.

Cy Young started over 800 games and completed 749 of them. He won 511 games, that is totally amazing....

Sandy Koufax did not pitch in the steroid era nor did he pitch with the lower mound they have today. Pedro's 1999 season is truly one of the best in history given those two things I just said.

the steroid era did not only effect the hitters. If you want to blanket the league with the steroid era, then you must include the possibility that every player, pitcher and hitter, may have used....

Pedro at his size really did steroids.

That isnt my point. My point is, if you want to bring up the steroid era, you have to at least consider the possibility that all players who have not been caught have an equal likelihood of using...
