Its quite sad cause they have developed some pretty good position players. Outside of stealing Kazmir from the Mets they have zero pitching. Maybe they will find it with a guy like Niemann but they do need more pitching. I guess if they used that revenue sharing money they might be able to find some.

Edwin Jackson hasn't amounted to anything. He keeps hitting a wall called AAA. Townsend got hurt, and is Niemann pitching again? Take it from the D-Rays, out of the Rice trio, they got stuck with the s***** ones. Maybe it's karma from them stealing Kazmir from the Mets.

They should use that revenue sharing to resign Julio Lugo and Scott Kazmir. Chances of that happing are low, I mean you've got a better shot of seeing GlitterII then that happening.

Niemann just got his first career victory just the other day. Its a damn shame that all of the Rice trio have been hurt. Humber just came back and is pitching well. Jackson suprised me. I remembered all of that hype when he was with the Dodgers.

If Niemann can ever stay healthy, they've got a star right there. 6'9, 260 lbs. Add 95 mph fastball.

Scary.

Sidney Ponson is 250 pounds, he has a 95-MPH fastball. I don't think anyone is scared of him, except the teammates that have to watch him go out and pitch for them. :D

The only way 250# belongs in the same sentence as Sidney Ponson is if you are talking about weekly consumption of pork rinds. He weighs 250# just like Farrakhan is going on kibbutz this year.

While Young shouldnt say anything he is kinda right. The D-Rays are going nowhere. Why are they fooling around with Greg Norton when they could give Young a chance? It sounds like they plan on moving Upton to 3rd. Why not trade Wiggington to a team that needs a 3B (Padres) and call up Upton. Because of the many outfielders they have they could deal Dukes for some pitching.

Still youre a top prospect, cant go blasting off the management and team. He also made a mild reference to the current D-Rays players.

They are now paying for their comments

Most players didn't want to discuss the article, but left fielder Carl Crawford - who considers Young a friend - said he was speechless when he saw the article online early Friday morning and was critical of his potential future teammates Friday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.

"Maybe that's how they think they're supposed to act," Crawford said. "I don't know why, because I didn't set that kind of example, and other players around here haven't set that kind of example, so I don't know why they're acting like that."

Rays veteran Ty Wigginton, when informed of Dukes' remark about the Evian showers in the majors, begged to differ.

"Actually, we get individual scrubs from the trainers," Wigginton said. "I go back there and I sit in a big Jacuzzi and [trainers Paul] Harker and Ronnie Porterfield give me a sponge bath."

These kids need to shut the f*** up.

Why?

They're absolutely right. Young was wrong when he threw a bat at the umpire, but he's right on this one. This franchise is pathetic.

Oh, but they have Ty Wigginton. (And Greg Norton!)

MLB franchise? f*** no. Someone needs to call them out.

I'd be pretty pissed if I was Delmon Young or BJ Upton......talent and time is being wasted with them in the minors. They are deffinitly beyond the minors but....I'm happy if they never move up to the MLB team....I don't want to face them

If you're going to insult a team that you haven't even made yet, at least take it up with the actual team instead of the press. They're not giving, and they now will not get any respect from their organization. It just doesn't help the cause.

And guess how these guys will repay Tampa for having them call them up late....they will pad there stats until they hit free agency and tell tampa to shove it.

I saw that Ty Wigginton got hit by a pitch and fractured a bone in his hand today. I wonder if D-Rays management is pissed off enough over Upton’s recent remarks that they wouldn’t call him up.

Why would they promote Upton? They have the immortal Tomas Perez, who went 5-5 with 4 doubles yesterday -- raising his BA to .215, waiting in the wings. Just like they won't need to promote Delmon if Norton gets hurt because the capable Russell Branyan is ready to step in.

I have no problem with these guys calling management out because they are right. Those of you that think they should have just voiced their message internally and not in the press, how do you know they haven't and their concerns have fallen on deaf ears? I was interested to see if the new ownership/management would make the needed moves to right this ship, but they've proven pretty inept thus far.
