ya i went to the game tonight and sat in the first row behind the bulls dugout (my friends dads the hitting coach for Durham). It was one of the dumbest things ive ever seen. Hes most likely suspended for the whole season. What a dumb move.

He first stared at the ump for like 30 seconds while still be in the batters box, then he turned around and walked away, took 5 steps, turned back around and threw the bat right at the ump.

i'm sorry, but who the hell throws a bat at the ump?? I mean honestly, who the hel does that? why not take off your shoes and throw that too? I hear Austin Powers 4 is casting. thats just stupid.

the whole place was silent for like a minute, in shock of what happened. He didnt just lob the bat, he threw it pretty hard. Delmon Young seems like the prototypical spoiled kid who thinks hes too good for everyone. He and BJ Upton are 2 of the cockiest players i have ever seen.

that's because they are the 2 best players in the minors. but he basically ruined himself for a good amount of time. but this isn't football, this is baseball. if the kid can play he'll get paid.

i wish baseball was more like football sometimes. football teams pay for private investigators before they draft players.. charcater actually matters in the NFL draft.

No matter how talented, that guy doesn't belong in professional baseball.

he doesn't belong in anything with the word "professional" in it

Does anyone remember Izzy Alcantra, he didn't do anything to the ump, but didn't he back-kick the catcher then charge the mound?

Delmon Young is an idiot and will never succeed in the bigs with his attitude.

according to my friend, hes one of those guys who no one in the clubhouse likes and pretty much no one likes him. Hes one of the most cockiest guys ive ever seen before.

 How could we ever forget? That was genius to take out the catcher first.

The video is hilarious because he actually walks out of the shot, and then the bat comes flying back in. He's lucky he didn't throw it a few inches higher or it would have hit the ump in the face and he may have been banned for life.

I love how the catcher puts his mask over his face for a second, cause you know he is holding back laughter. Then he goes out to see the pitcher. That was classic...

Yeah? I knew about Delmon. I heard he was absolutely HATED by all of his teammates. But I always heard good things about Upton. I've been pulling for him last few years. Back in 2003 he was projected pretty highly, he should be in Tampa Bay by now starting. How's he doing down there?

Delmon Young suspended 50 games without pay today by the International League

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2438919

I've asked a couple people and nobody knows.

It is the International League that is suspending him. So not that they would, becausde it would be stupid, but COULD the Devil Rays send him down to Double A or something and would he be allowed to play there since it's not the international league? Thanks.

He will not be going to AA ball. The Drays are going to have him play in some extended spring training games along with some time off as well. I also heard he has to do some community service as well.
