http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bos.gif RHP Matt Clement (1-0, 5.14 ERA)

The right-hander came out strong in his first start, firing six shutout innings before giving up four runs in his last inning of work. He recorded the victory over the Orioles. This is Clement's first start of the season at Fenway Park, where he went 8-4 with a 4.90 ERA last year. Clement pitched four times against the Blue Jays in 2005, going 0-2 with an 8.34 ERA.

http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/tor.gif TOR: LHP Ted Lilly (1-0, 4.05 ERA)

Lilly will be making his second start of the year, this time against the Red Sox, who the left-hander victimized last season. In 2005, Lilly was 3-0 with a 2.40 ERA in five starts with 19 strikeouts across 30 innings vs. Boston. He hasn't fared as well at Fenway Park, though, going 2-1 with a 5.08 ERA in seven starts in Beantown.

We need some dead bird mojo since we had none yesterday and the Sox lost.

I hope Clement pitches as good as he did last time. Up until that last inning he was pitching about as good as I'd seen him pitch. His delivery was much quicker and he was in complete control. Let's keep that going.

Man, this sucks. Every one of my 10 MLB Extra Innings channels is showing hockey tonight. No baseball at all. What the hell???? This has never happened before and it had better never EVER happen again.

Blinky continues to smack around Sox pitchers. At least it was a single. I'm not a mean person, and I'd never wish harm upon anyone, but if a boat with Reed Johnson and Frank Catalanotto were to disappear in the Bermuda Triangle, it's a safe bet that I won't shed any tears.

The infield D really looks solid. Hey Matty, keep the ball down and throw strikes, they'll catch 'em this year.

I feel your pain RSR. I was shocked when I saw that, as well. We pay to get the baseball games, not the hockey... so give us the baseball games!

I just looked at the NHL schedule and it could be this way for us for another week. Sucks.

Keep.....the ball.....down. This bitch will get blown open real quick if Clement keeps serving it up between the letters and the belt.

I'm really starting to like Mike Lowell...a lot. Not that there's anyting wrong with that.

come on who likes hockey?

You know, I wouldn't care if it was the playoffs, but it's not even that..

Now that I'm bitching about stuff, let me get this off my chest.

They are showing the Braves/Phillies game down here on both the Braves station AND ESPN. Shouldn't this be where the blackout rules actually help me???

As for MLB.com... The last few years when it came time to renew my subscriptions to the Gameday Audio and/or MLB.tv, they would prompt me with a "is this your correct credit card info? Are you sure you wish to purchase this package?" alert the first time I went to log in. This year they didn't do that. They just started charging my card the monthly fee for both. They didn't even ask. On top of that, the monthly fee is more (per game) than the season fee which I would have chosen had they asked. I don't really need MLB.tv if I have the Extra Innings package. I sometimes use the gameday audio during Fox blackouts but that's it (MLB.tv is also blacked out when Fox is on). I feel used.

So I'm basically paying $3 to watch the game tonight on my computer instead of about $1 to watch it on my TV which is blacked out by gay f***ing who gives a hockey that's not even playoff hockey and my mlb.tv stream keeps rebuffering and the picture quality sucks and aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. And now the game is tied 1-1. <_ src="//d1mqtyoopj0gsc.cloudfront.net/emoticons/default_rolleyes.gif" alt="">  <_ src="//d1mqtyoopj0gsc.cloudfront.net/emoticons/default_rolleyes.gif" alt="">

Um...Clement pretty much sucks tonight. He can't throw a strike down in the zone, and he's getting hammered.

Clement looks out right rattled. You can tell by his body language that he just can't comtrol the ball and hes angry about it. Thats not good news.

niiice. The jays are laying the wood....

No, they are taking batting practice. Clement seems to think the place to pitch is just above the belt right over the middle of the plate. An Independent League team could go to town off his stuff tonight.

On a side note, major league baseball was looking into the red substance on Matt Clement's leg in his last start. Ever since 2004, it was well documented how illegal adding ketchup to your sock had become and they were suspicious of him pulling a "schilling". They finally confronted him outside his locker in Camden Yards and quickly noticed that he had not used ketchup, but in fact he ran out of Kotex and he was having a heavy day. They quickly apologized.

Another side note, MLB noticed the same thing last yr when Pavano would pitch and they vowed never to make that mistake again. I guess they were wrong...
