How was Chacon today? I didn't get to see him pitch.

I was impressed with Matt Smith's performance; I've heard alot about him, today was the first time I've actually had the oppurtunity to see him pitch.

OK, I was pretty impressed with todays game. Damon looked good at the plate, going 2 for 3, leading off the game with a double. Chacon looked good in his few innings, giving up a hit and a walk. Sean Henn didnt look great, but didnt look horrible either. Although giving up the 2-run homer didnt help him much. Myers didnt look very good at all, being that he gave up 5 3 runs. But he faced mainly righties, something that wont happen during the season. Andy Phillips looked good with that shot that put the Yankees ahead 3-2. Kevin Reese, though he didnt do anything too extraordinary, impressed me for some reason. Another person who I was VERY impressed with, despite giving up a Homer, was J. Brent Cox. He looked VERY good in his inning, as did Matt Smith, the young lefty reliever. Bernie looked a little uncoordinated in Right Field, although thats to be expected. Its not like he did a bad job, he did fine, but I expect him to get better at the corner position as the spring goes on. Kevin Thompson looked pretty good both in the field and at the plate, and would have looked good on the bases had he not been caught stealing (althogh replays show that it was a VERY close play, and Kenny SIngleton said that the tag never touched him. I, on the other hand cant make a descision based on the replay alone). Another point I want to make is how smoothe Cano looked in the field. And speaking of Cano, he has definately put on some muscle. And also, it looks to me as if his complection is a little bit darker (not that it matters, just an observation  )

My hero, Michael Kay made two mistakes during the broadcast. Josh Kroeger, who played in the Diamondbacks organization last year, came up to bat for the Phillies and they showed his stats on the screen, and above them it said "2005 Triple A-Tuscan", and Kay says "this is what he did last year for Philadelphia's Triple A club in Tuscan." He should have known better, that Scranton-Wilkes Barre is the home of Pilly's Triple A affiliate, not Tuscan. And also, he kept pronouncing Matt Kata's last name "Kod-uh" when it is pronounced "Kate-uh", not that it matters, but I found it rather annoying

Looking forward to tomorrow's game, although I probably wont see the entire thing (I have to go to school tomorrow, i've been out all week with an ear infection, but my doctors excuse expired today :( )

Ok, so thats all from me for today.

Also, im pretty happy YES is adding another pre-game show to the schedule this year. In addition to YES' New York Yankees Pre-Game show, which airs half an hour prior to all games, YES will now have "Yankees BP Today" (Or something like that) where they air batting practice live, and interview players and whatnot. So now we're like NESN where we have an hour of pre-game coverage.

I got a feeling that there will be times he will be left in to face righty batters. Its natural for any manager, even Torre

I highly doubt it. Today was just to get him work. We have plenty of righties to get the righties out. I am pretty certain Joe doesnt use him to get righties out.

they made embree a lefty specialist by the end of the season, but he was left in for too long (hence facing righties). But thats right, no pitching decision flubs will be made this season for NY

Joe might let him face a righty now and then, but not anything like today.

Today was just absolutely horrible to see. He got knocked around by a couple minor leaguers. Not good.

For the most part, not any glaringly obvious mistakes...like sending a lefty with Myer's motion against a few righties in one game.

Then Torre will be out of a job. Theres no way Meyers will face righties(on any kind of a consistant basis) and the only reason why Embree started to face righties last season (Outside of the Konerko HR) was that he was ineffective against lefties so he became the mop up man. The only way Torre leaves Meyers in against a righty is if he has great numbers against them.

Game was alright today. Melky looked very good. Mitch Jones looks to be in a lot better shape than he was in last year. Mendoza looked good until he walked the bases loaded...and the killer for me today was my boy Frank Brooks getting the loss :(

Who, who and who. My gosh! Who cares. Will any of them play for the Yankees, ever?

Everyone knows who mendoza is.
We know him well enough to know that he will not be going north with the Yankees, and his major league days a likely behind him.

idk but im most intrested in seeing how j.Brent Cox turns out,he'll be the yankees version of craig hansen minus the velocity

He's looked pretty good to me so far.

Chacon is definitely earning his place in the rotation this spring...pitched 3 scoreless innings today, extending his scoreless innings streak to 8.
