And if he only won 3 because of Shaq, why hasn't Shaq won any rings without the aid of Kobe?

Please. Shaq went to the Heat and made them the 2nd best team in the East. Shaq left the Lakers and made them the worst team in the West. Please don't even try to compare the two. Kobe can score, and do all kinda fancy dunks, but the one thing he can't do is make a team better. When Shaq steps on the court, he tries and does, make everyone better. While Kobe just worries about scoring his 81 points so Nike makes him a new shoe.

how could anyone give a rats ass about kobe bryant? the guy cheated on his beautiful wife, then claims that shaq has done worse things on national television.. wtf? it's like stealing from a store and saying that the kid down the street has stolen from houses.

not to mention he never apologized to shaq. shaq, the victim is the one who walked over to kobe and made the truce, now that is a man. kobe will forever be known as the person who drove shaq out of town, the person who cheated on his wife, and an immature me first player.

that's how his legacy is and will always be no matter how many points he scored.

shaq however will go down as one of the greatest centers who has ever played the game, he's taken every team he's been on to the conference finals. don't tell me that shaq needed penny, or kobe, or wade.. he was the reason that those teams went that far.. even jordan had his pippen, you could even say that jordan had a stronger cast, pippen in his prime was superior to penny, kobe and wade when shaw played with them.

Thank You. The point is that Kobe is a major ballhog, and any superstar could score 81 points if they shoot almost 50 jump shots a games and about 20 free throws, not to mention when Wilt was playing they didn't have the 3 point line like Kobe did.

Please. Shaq also has an MVP caliber player with him in Miami in Dwyane Wade, a future hall of famer in Gary Payton (coming off the bench, even... I think), and a ton of talent around him in Antoine Walker, James Posey, and Jason Williams. Add to that Alonzo Mourning coming off of the bench.

Kobe has... who? Lamar Odom? I'd pass on him. That team would be the worst in the NBA if not for Kobe. As it stands, he's got them in the #7 spot in the West.

Talksox and Yeszir didn't offer me enough money, so for the last few weeks I've been browsing the net just kind of enjoying life. Yeszir became desperate though, and decided to sign me back. ;)

Actually: I've just been really caught up in high school. Hopefully I'll be able to post here more, though.

Screw Kobe and screw the fLakers. Jordan is still the best to ever play.

In my opinion, Wilt Chamberlain was better than Jordan.

Not even somebody who averaged 30 points and 23 rebounds per game in an era in which the league was adding rules to prevent their dominance rather than to promote it? And those numbers were dragged down by the last few years of his career. At his best, like the season he averaged 50 points and 26 rebounds per game, he's the greatest ever.

He, like Jordan, was a very good defender, as well.

Wow, I can't even believe that this is an argument, why are we bashing a guy who scored 81 points in a game? 81 is a lot of points, and were bashing him for that. You guys make it seem, like the only reason he made 81, was because he threw up a lot of shots. HE SHOT 64% FROM THE FIELD, and went 18-20 from the freethrow line. That's Hardcore. Kobe is amazing. Don't even compare Kobe to Jordan, or Wilt. Kobe is Kobe. He will soon have people compared to him. Kobe is a league of his own. He can do stuff, other people can only wish to do.

"The only bad thing about it is that younger kids, whose minds are easily warped, are going to think, 'Ohhh! I am going to go out there and do it instead of (honoring) the team concept first,'" the Nets' star told the newspaper. "That is what is missing in the game, guys understanding how to play as a team."

So in VC's mind, this is a better example for younger kids out there:

And the only bad thing about VC's game last night is that younger kids, whose minds are easily warped, are going to think, "Oh, I am going to go out there and be a piece of s*** on the basketball court and lose the game."

He obviously had a bad night, and he took his statements too far, but he DID have a point. But he didn't need to say that, he should have just said "Nice performance..." and left it at that.

Please, Please, PLEASE don't tell me and all the other basketball minds on this forum that you think Kobe Bryant is better than Jordan or Wilt. Because if you are you need to examine more carefully the difference between the three.

And hes not on Jordan or Wilt's level. I for one think he can be but hes lacking things, like making his teammates better, which is something Jordan did well. And don't give me that garbage that Jordan had a better supporting cast...Kobe didn't make his teammates better when they won the three rings it was Shaq who made them better and Kobe benefitted from having Shaq and now hes doing his thing by himself.

One thing you are right about is that 81 points is alot. But when you shoot 41 shots (thats alot too) it was a matter of both, but when you do launch up 41 shots from JUST the field you better shoot 64% or your gonna find yourself on the bench for about a week's worth of games.

I'm not saying that he is better then Jordan, I am saying he is in a league of his own. HE IS KOBE BRYANT. Since he has come back from his suspension, he has avg. 45.4 pts. a game. Im sorry, but the NBA is all about who throws up the most points, and KOBE is doing that. Jordan and Wilt aren't hall of famers because of teamates, they are hall of famers becuase of THEIR skills. Kobe has enough skills, he proved that by scoring 81 in a game. He scored more points ALONE then like 4 teams the next night. And yes, Jordan did have a supporting cast... to be contiued(in class)

f-in sour puss man. You don't have to be a Kobe fan to be amazed with that type of performance. Get over it Manny. Kobe is a beast, Kobe is amazing, and Kobe is the best. And one day, he will surpass, the "all great" Michael Jordan.

Where did I say I wasn't amazed? I never said that. It's an outstanding performance but I'm not interested, I don't like the guy.

Kobe may be the best INDIVIDUAL player, but I for one would NOT take him over every player in the NBA to start my own franchise with. No sense of team, me first attitude and well just look at the Lakers, they aren't what I would call a championship calibur team. Yes I realize the other guys he has with him lack star talent (EXCEPT Odom) but that's what makes an elite player, making your teammates better. Obviously he's not helping in the growth of Lamar Odom.

No need for name calling man, just because I hate the guy doesn't mean you have to call me vulgar names, I did NOTHING to you for that to come out of your post. Don't start that.

He may very well pas MJ, but theres a certain youngster named LeBron James who will indeed surpass him (and Kobe if people put him past MJ) as well.

EDIT: Oh, and God is spelled with a capital "G"

I am not a Kobe fan, and I am a Kobe hater. But this is getting way too biased. I have to respect his greatness. With that said, he's the best player right now. He's a ball hog because he has a s***** supporting cast. I hate to say it, but the Clippers would be so much better if he was signed in '04...

I'm not going into Kobe praising. I've already given him his props.

Anyway...I have a hard time seeing how you can say that your Clippers would be better with Kobe on the team.

Have a look...

Kobe signed a 7 yr $149 Million dollar deal with the Lakers. He would have wanted that from your guys. So that happening, would have (I don't know the whole details about the Clippers free agents but...) prevented Sam Cassell coming to the Clippers, as well as Cuttino Mobley, that dude from the Bucks whos name I forget right now, and a few of your nice bench players, of which you said it was nice to have because your bench sucked or whatever. I don't think he would have helped much. Most likely would have caused trouble with EB, and Magette (when healthy) and run them outta town and you woulda had the Lakers just wearing Clipper unis.

EDIT: I apologize if I am being arrogant or snobbish. I just get touchy when it comes to this guy...

I should've said that if we had Kobe instead of Mobley. And you're right, Bobby Simmons would still be unheard of if Kobe was a Clipper.

No worries, I have the same attitude towards Barry Bonds as you do with Kobe when it comes to greatness. f*** Bonds.

LMAO. SO true.

wow dude, when shaq was in there he wasn't selfish, but now that he has a crappy team, he has to be. He is only a ball hog because he has no supporting cast. Great players can't make other players great. There individual skills.

Great players can't make other players great.

I beg to differ. Steve Nash? Ever heard of him? Hes made Raja Bell, James Jones, Eddie House, and Boris Diaw all into respectable players.

Posted
they're not great. The get the ball and just go up with it. Steve Nash makes DEFENDERS look silly. they come off on him he passes the ball. BOOM open shot. An open shot doesn't make them great players. It makes the shot that much easier

This has got to top them all in idiotic statements in regards to sports, here on Talksox. YanksHater is 100% right. Nash makes the Suns tick. Let me back it up with numbers so you don't think I'm bais:

The year before the Suns acquired Steve Nash (the second time, the first to those who don't follow the Suns closely) they were AWFUL. I mean REALLY AWFUL. They had Shawn Marion and Amare Stoudemire still but no point guard to run the show and make them tick.

In 03-04 (BN---Before Nash) the Suns were an awful 29-53

In 04-05 (AN---After Nash) The Suns were 62-20, best record in the NBA, and tied for the franchise record of 62-20 which the did in 1992-1993 (the year we lost to the Bulls in the finals.)

And to further prove my point, recall the discussion last season when Steve got hurt, how Amare Stoudemire and Shawn Marions numbers SIGNIFICANTLY dropped how it was all due to Nash. Well it was (don't have the numbers in front of me but if you STILL are going to try to say to me that great players don't make other players great, I'll find them.)
