I guess you couldn't find this on Google, He Hate Me.

Sparky entered the game to Pomp and Circumstance.

Oh I'm sorry were you expecting me to sit by and wait for you to dig up more stuff form the Internet? Excuse me for being late on your 5 minute schedule. It's on Google btw, as are all your "trivia" questions.

This is a lame game, if you want to quiz people on their baseball knowledge you do it according to the years they were born. Why dont you tell us what red Sox player in 1935 had the first 3 hit game of the year for his club? Oh I'm sorry, that's not your timetable? Then don't playt this retarded you dont know nothing from when you wasnt born, you aint no fan game.

Here's a pretty simple one: against which team did Lou Gehrig hit his first Major League home run?

(I know I'm not a Sox fan, but I just like asking questions... )

He did call you out on a trivia question, you going to answer it?

I think you should considering you and Sweet Chin Music33 have been questioning us Yankee fans as to our Yankee knowledge.

Not AT ALL on subject...but I love your fun facts in your sig.

It is my opinion that several, no make that most, no make that all of the Yankee fans on these Boards who profess great knowledge of Yankee history really know very little about it.

Chances are, the people who stay around on this site know a thing or two about baseball. I think it's pretty condescending to assume that if someone doesn't know something as obscure as what song Lyle liked then they don't know about their team. Don't get me wrong, the questions are interesting and I'm learning new things, I just don't think these Q&A's should be the barometer as to which Yankee fans are knowledgeable and which aren't.

Not trying to start anything!! Just putting that out there because your statement was a bit generalized.

I am a Sox fan and I agree with you, Pinstripe_Pride.

Dude (a700hitter), this stuff has no barometer on how good or bad of a fan people are. Its just either shows how much stuff you can look up or how much stuff people know. You have a time limit for people to answer but you have all the time in the world...odd. :dunno:

The one I quoted
Do all of you Yankee fans get PMS at the same time? Yeah, that was my initial post, challenging the knowledge of Yankee fans regarding the history of their own team. Last night, I got some impressive answers. It showed me that alot of you guys study the history of the game. I can respect that. I have studied the history of the game since I was a boy. There have been no insults from me if I stumped you guys. I reached deep for the Sparky Lyle question, because He Hate Me was criticizing the questions as readily available on Google. He has acted like a jerk, and he apparently has an anger problem or he doesn't know much Yankee history. Most of you guys seem to be on top of your game. I was impressed that someone's dad knew who SuperChief was. BTW He Hate Me, SuperChief was prior to my time. If you like the questions, I'll keep asking them. I enjoy jogging my memory for this stuff. I pass no judgments on any of you if you don't know the answers. Have the questions generally been too obscure, other than the Lyle question? I figure that you don't want softballs, either.

No, keep 'em comin. Like I said, I enjoy them. I don't think I'll forget now that Lyle came out to Pomp and Circumstance. I wasn't trying to provoke you, and it was poor judgement on my part to post it after the comments He Hate Me posted, and for that I apologize. I was just re-reading the thread from the beginning to see if I missed any questions, and that first sentence didn't really sit well with me, that's all.

It slow and boring tonight, so here's a nice softball Yankee trivia question:

What two brothers who played the same position opposed each other in the World Series? Name the brothers, the year and the opposing team.

Posted

Clete and Kenny Boyer, 1964, cardinals...I believe that is the right answer. I know Clete's brother Ken was athird baseman for the cardinals, so this is what came to mind

...I like answering your trivia questions and all, but I didnt like the initial post and everything. Qestioning us as to our knowledge isnt fair, especially when millions (including several on this board) have just recently in the past few years jumped on the Boston bandwagon.

Didn't they both hit a homerun in the same game?

That just popped into my mind when the question was asked; it's probably just a random thing I made up...

Ken Boyer hit a Grand Slam in Game 4 of the '64 Series off Al Downing. This was only the second World Series GS hit by an NL'er. The first World Series hit by an NLer was also hit against the Yankees. Who hit it? What Year?

I find it hard to believe that the forst World Series hit by a National Leaguer came against the Yankees, who didnt play in their first World Series until 1921. Are you seriously going to tell me with a straight face that every world series game until 1921 was a no hitter in the favor of the American League representitive. I really think I misunderstood the question or you mis-typed it.

A repeat question from yesterday that went unanswered. Who hit the first Grand Slam homer run by a NLer in a World Series? It came against the Yankees. Name the player, the team and the year.
