all morning i was hearing al, rondo and theo, so this deal the herald is reporting tickles me a little more than that one

i havent really been huge on getting KG at the expense of Jefferson, and I still don't think I am. Will I be upset? Nope. Not sure if giving Al away for KG is the best move.

But either way this makes us instant favorites for the East with Allen Pierce and KG

Hey, the Celtics have become relevant again! I actually can't wait for the NBA season to begin. I don't know how long it's been since I've said that. Actually maybe never in my life time. I really think we could win a championship next season which is really exciting. The Sox, Patriots and Celtics all winning championships in the season school year, that would be teriffic.

i know its only preseason, and they're playing the knicks, but the Celtics look pretty dominant tonight. there up 31 now, going into the 4th quarter. they should be very fun to watch this year and very tough to beat

Yeah but they beat the Knicks by 40 because they held the Knicks to 61 points, not because they scored 120 or 130 points. The Celtics are going to be a very, very bad defensive team this season so 61 is certainly an anomaly.

i know it was against the knicks 2nd/3rd string too, but pruitt looked promising and the powe show looked pretty good as well.

can't wait for november 2nd. i got 2 tickets.

ya but the defense looked good and i liked how the offense looked, especially the starters playing together. the bench looked pretty good to, and the young guys like powe, pruitt and davis looked pretty good

Not quite one game in, but the Nuggets offense sans JR Smith looks good. Smith will be back after he serves his three game suspension.

The defense... um... well... doesn't quite look as good.

Isnt it beautiful to be talking NBA basketball again? B)

It is...

... except now is where I start to miss Colorado. I didn't much like that state -- it was nice for a while, but after 14 years, I needed a change of scenery -- I certainly won't miss the weather forecasts this time of year or how dry it is out there when it's not snowing, and I always thought that I'd never look back except for for friends. But I realize tonight, watching the Nuggets on ESPN, just how much I am going to miss watching the Nuggets. I also miss the sports talk radio out in Colorado, for whatever reason I can't even get AM radio here in Ocala. :dunno:

But watching the Nuggets seven or eight times a season isn't going to cut it for me... I may have to move back. And I'm completely serious when I say that.

edit: What does that say about me when my potential reason for moving back isn't my friends or potential work, but the Nuggets and Broncos?

I'll participate more in this thread this year because I am playing fantasy hoops for the first time, so I'll start paying attention to the league again.

First thoughts, watched a bit of the begining of the SEA/DEN game last night, and little Wilkins can play. Denver is up and down the court all night, they might go 35 wins or better at home with that pace and the opponent not having adjusted to altitude.

Yeah, the altitude's a huge advantage when the team chooses to use it. And they have a team that can do it... AI loves to get out and run the break. Andre Miller, as much as I loved him, always seemed more comfortable when he slowed the ball down, and he did that a little too often. Seattle was able to keep it close but eventually Denver just ran 'em out of the building. Can't wait until they get JR Smith back, but I'm sure going to miss watching my Nuggets this year.

This is my first year doing fantasy basketball too... I think I have a team that should be able to win it all. The draft was done via message board so nobody had player rankings readily available and I was able to snag Shawn Marion in the third round... pretty much every site I look at has him as a top three fantasy player.

My starting lineup is...

Deron Williams

Tracy McGrady

Shawn Marion

Chris Bosh

Amare Stoudemire

If they stay healthy it'll be a lethal lineup, I'm thinking.

Look for your Phoenix boys to go crazy. Amare's going to play with a chip on his shoulder, AND he's another year past his microfracture surgery. Marion, who said in the offseason that he wants out of town, is a FA after this year, so he's in his contract year and will want to put on a show.

I'm hoping so, like I said, Marion was ranked tops on a lot of sites and I stole him in this draft. He helps with points, rebounds, and blocks.

I have Jason Terry, Andre Miller, David West, Gerald Wallace, and Lamar Odom as well. Good team, I think.

KG 22/20/5/3/3?

Hows that for a debut.

Celtics looked real good tonight. Rondo outplayed Arenas, Pierce and Allen were awesome, House looked good off the bench, hell even Scal did too.

I really liked tonight hopefully they can keep it going.

Here's mine...

PG - Chris Paul (love the 21 dimes last night)

SG - Rip

SF - R Jefferson

PF - Boozer

C - Amare

BN - Al Jefferson, Marvin Williams, Stackhouse, Jason Williams, Shaq, little Wilkins, Antoine Wright, Kenyon Martin

It's Yahoo, and you play 10 - sit 3 each night. I'm light on deep threats, but should have solid numbers out of the frontline all year once Martin is up to speed and playing full-time. His energy as a big man is excellent, and that will mean easy buckets in transition on that team, kind of like he did in NJ.
