dosent matter in this series ' date=' the series should be over weather its me or doc rivers coaching. blame the players right now[/quote']

The Hawks aren't THAT bad when you look at their team ... Horford, Joe Johnson (gotta love that trade where the Celtics landed Tony Delk and Rodney Rodgers! PRAISE THE LORD!), and Bibby (even though he's past his prime) are very good players - it obviously goes without saying that Johnson and Bibby are all-stars, while Horford is most definitely one in the making. Smith blocks shots like a porn star takes them, and Marvin Williams has been pretty solid throughout the series. Childress is a pretty decent 6th guy... Pachulia does the little things. The only thing that hurt them during the regular season was their youth. Maybe I'm in the minority, but they have a lot of talent on that team, and it's starting to shine through in this series. I don't think they're that much worse, if not worse at all, than the Raptors or 76ers. This series would be over if Doc could draw up decent plays in crunch time. Last night when the Celtics were going for the tie with around 40 seconds left, the best he could do was Allen attempting to come off a pick for a 3? Come the f*** on. You don't need a 3 there... Garnett was wide open in the key for an easy 2 anyway. Instead, Allen takes a running jump shot with a hand in his face and doesn't even come close.

If Doc was any good at all, this series would've been over a couple days ago. I credit the players for the incredible season they've had to this point...not Doc. So many people up here in Boston are upset that Doc got "snubbed" of the coach of the year award - well, I've got news for them (and even to that extent, it's not really news). He didn't get snubbed because he's not that good. It was the players.

If Doc continues to coach like this, the Cavs will handle the Celtics in round 2, provided that the Celtics win Sunday afternoon. I think they will, because I don't see the Hawks winning away from home, but I'm pretty nervous.

That sucks about the malfunctioning clock at the end of the 1st half.

I thought the clock malfunction was at the end of the third quarter when Billups took that 3?

I found this story kind of funny. Papa John's pizza offended Lebron by making t-shirts with "crybaby" on them and when they realized that it was offensive decided to sell customers a large pizza for 23 cents (Lebrons #) to make up for it. They will be donating all this money to the Cavs Youth fund. Sounds like a good deal for Cleveland fans lol

a great deal if the pizza didnt taste like ass and armpit with a touch of oregano.

Exactly! I don't understand how some people just love the s***. That and domino's.

James Posey is expected to announce that he'll re-sign with the Boston Celtics in the next 24 hours

First line of around the league... let's just say my dick isn't soft right now, and I'm sure The Kilo is extremely excited as well.

Seemed like a good time to get this thread going again, with Brand coming to the Atlantic Division which is shaping up to be AWESOME with Elton Brand and the 76ers and Jermaine O'Neal and the Raptors.

Some HUGE moves so far...

Brand to Sixers

Davis to Clippers

O'Neal to Toronto

Pietrus to Orlando (big move for them, real under the radar player)

Yeah, if that's true, you gotta love that move. Any idea on the length? If it's three years, I love the move. If it's four or five I can deal with it because the expiring contract can be a valuable trading chip.

WOW.

The Nuggets GIVE Camby to the Clippers for the right to exchange second round picks in 2010. They don't even acquire any assets.

Horrific trade for Denver, they lose their only defensive piece, and will probably allow 115 PPG next year.

I don't blame them, the only teams with cap space were the Grizzlies (who wouldn't spend their money on Camby), and the Clippers, so the Clippers were pretty much able to set the price.

But wow, even if I needed to get rid of salary, I wouldn't have dealt Camby, he's got 2 years left on a decent size contract, that's gonna be a nice trading chip next year for a team looking to bolster their interior defense in the middle of next year.

Yeah... I guess it's something they kind of needed to do, take a step towards fixing their financial situation and all, but management still has dreams of contending for a Title, even though this team will be worse off than that disappointing team from last year. Had they known they would eventually make this move, they should've been smart enough to just start getting themselves in a position to rebuild.

Should've looked to trade Iverson or Melo -- eventually you just have to admit that the direction in which you're going is never going to work.

edit: I guess the idea is to play Nene at the 5, Melo at the 4 spot, Kleiza at small forward, and JR Smith and AI as the guards.

Thanks for the reliable information Yankshater you donkey! Posey just signed with the Hornets.

Not happy about it, but also, I was hoping Danny wouldn't budge and give him the 4th year.

Matt Barnes and Quinton Ross are who we should be looking at now I think.

They didn't overpay, which N.O. did. Hollinger has a decent article out there on it. That said, his contributions as a player and teammate, particularly in the postseason shall be missed.

The Celtics now need to find someone new to hug each player before the game.

hes a winner,no doubt about it...

neworleans will be better, tuffer and more experienced with him.

the west looks like its decaying just a bit,Utah,Nawlins and the Lakers will be fighting for the top with Phoenix and San Antone just getting a little older and a little slower...I have no idea what happened to that denver franchise, they appeared to be on the cusp of doing some great things...then they got a.i...a man who never won anything but a scoring title and all of a sudden they cant play .500 ball...losing camby is huge, hes the only guy on that team that can rebound and block shots...

Denver was never on the cusp of being anything great. They won more games this season with AI than they had without him the past few years, but a familiar first round exit was still the result. How George Karl didn't get fired is well beyond me.

They say AI had one of his better years this year -- I didn't watch the Nuggets nearly enough to intelligently comment on that, but they also say 'Melo regressed in every area of his game except for his three point shooting, which makes him merely mediocre from deep, as opposed to bad. Should've traded him before his value drops this year.

carmello is a far more versatile than iverson, its obvious that the addition of iverson was not what carmelo anthony needed,he needed a big man.

the nuggs have or had plenty of guards that could play

anthonys regression i feel is due to the ball being in iversons hands

If that's the case it seems like an attitude problem. I know for sure they desperately need AI if they want to have any sort of half court offense. He's a one man half court offense... before they got him, they could do nothing but run.

The biggest problem with the Nuggets is that they've always been a mish-mash of talents. They have a lot of talent on that roster but they've never gotten that whole team work thing down, and they've never committed to running the ball. They should be able to run teams out of that Pepsi Center gym with the altitude and all.

ive followed the nuggs since the aba days when they had david thompson and dan issel.

in there heyday of the 70s and 80s ive seen them score 150 points in 4 straight games.

they had issel english vanderweigh thompson and other run and gunners

they were incredibly fun to watch but you never got to see them until the playoffs or an occasional game on national sports on sunday..

george karl never won s*** in his career and has had some great teams to work with.

losing camby is devastating and i dont see them rising above it this year

melo needs to grow up.

Artest to the Rockets.

Yao made some interesting comments, basically saying he was unsure of Artest and his attitude. Artest fired back saying that Yao hasn't played with a player that represents black culture as much as he has.

I'm not a big fan of Artest but it'll be interesting to see how this trio works together...seems like it's already falling apart before it's started.

First off, I'm guessing I'm the only Kings fan on this site? At first I thought I was the only Bucs fan as well, but I was wrong. Anyway, Artest is a good player but I'm glad we could finally get rid of him and get a nice package in return. Bobby Jackson is an ex-King and can do some good for us, Donte Green is a little raw but has a lot of talent, and the '09 1st round pick is definitely a plus. All in all we're extremely young but could make a little noise in a tough Western Conference this year.

Donte Greene will be looked at as one of the sleepers of this draft a few years down the road, in my opinion.

Very good chance of that. He's got a boatload of talent - we just have to give him some time to get adjusted to the NBA and figure it all out. A little ways down the road I think he will be a really good player.
