Are you also finding it actually sort of enjoyable to watch the World Series without either of our teams in it? It's like Bizzaro world for me; I'm actually enjoying watching a BASEBALL game rather than get caught up in the whole Yanks-Red Sox thing. Who woulda thunk it, I guess we get so wrapped up in our little war that we sometimes overlook the other things that makes baseball the greatest sport (come April, I'll forget all this and go back to hoping Boston gets blown up :D )

World Series...? Whats that? :dunno: :D LOL, no I honestly haven't watched it. Last night I watched Game 2 of last years World Series. More enjoyable to watch my own team, IMO.

I for one am of the mindset that I don't find baseball enjoyable unless I have one clear distinct team to root for. I'm pretty indifferent about both teams which is why I haven't really been tuned in to the World Series.

I love baseball, and these games have been pretty exciting. I think I enjoyed watching the two championship series more, but this is fun too. It's exciting baseball to say the least, but of course I'd like to see Boston in there instead.

I think this will be a good series, going the distance. Houston isn't going to roll over. Two games so far have been good to watch, although it won't get the notoriety of the last two World Series.

I guess its enjoyable, but watching any baseball game for me is enjoyable. I always watch the World Series regardless of who is in it. And this years series has not disappointed at all.

And like thewarriorcode, im pulling for the Astros, but wouldnt mind if Chicago took it.

NO!

The Yankees are old. They will not contend unless Porgie Georgie goes out and takes the short-cut of buying other teams' players again.

Williams, Mussina, Johnson, Martinez, Giambi, and Sheffield are all moving into their middle and late 30's- young for a person, old for a pro ball player.

Sheffield, Mussina, and Giambi have some good years left, but they're going to need a better ensemble to compete with younger contenders next year like the White Sox, Guardians, A's, Angels, and possibly the Twins.

Not contend? They ALWAYS contend. It's the Yankees.

No dude I agree, but by contending (I meant) always there, a thorn in in your side and close to or in the playoffs. Yankees have won the DAMN division like 8 straight years. Not that I like it but that is contending...:(

And I agree, that is what Spinebender does, buy talent and not develop it (at least recently, but Jeter and Co. came up through their system)

true, and Posada, as well i believe... but in the words of the immortal Frank Costanza:

"How the hell can you trade Jay Buhner?!? He hit 40 home runs and had 121 RBIs last year!"

"Ken Phelps, Ken Phelps! All my scouts kept saying was 'Ken Phelps!'"

moooahahahahaha. the curse of bald goateed Jay Buhner!

Yeah, maybe I would if I actually watched it I might enjoy it more; I'm indifferent to both teams. Not personally, per se, but why is teetering on cardiac arrest an "enjoyable experience"?

Amazing what one season of success, after a history of failure upon failure, will do to a fan base...

just responding to years and years of smug-ass glib wannabe center of the baseball universe yankee fans.

oh, and sorry about MJ ruining the Knicks for 10 years. our bad.

I really wanted to root for Chicago this World Series, but I just couldn't. Why? White Sox fans (most of whom suddenly and miraculously found their hats this season.) If they're this bad in New York, I can't imagine what it's like in Chicago.

I never had any beef with you before, but if you keep popping off about Donnie then you and I are not going to get along very well.

Even though I love seeing the Sox in the World Series. This year's World Series has been very entertaining as well. Game 2 has been the best game that I have seen in the playoffs from any 2 teams. And im sure the series will continue to be that way.

I don't think Yankee fans ever bothered with White Sox fans.

btw, last night's game was pretty damn good. sigh, I wish they let Stick go buy the groceriesagain without interference from the fat bastards in Tampa Bay.

ditto

ohhhhhhh, well then, i'd better be quiet.

here's a fun game...

put Don Mattingly's and Frank Thomas' career stats side by side...

or, for that matter, even better...

put MO VAUGHN's and DON MATTINGLY's stats side by side.

it's a good time for all.

hint: Mo Vaugh is a hall of famer if Mattingly is... and Mattingly is no hall of famer.

are you that young, you obviously are because you are talking as if mattingly was your average joe ballplayer. growing up as a red sox fan, the type of great player he was I had wanted him to be on the red sox.

1985 AL MVP

Mattlingly is a 6 time All-Star (1984-1989)

10 time gold glove winner (1985-1994)

3 silver slugger awards for a 1st baseman (1985-1987)

5 time batting champ (1984-1988)

I believe he means based on his stats, and after looking at them, besides 2000 hits he has nothing on Mo Vaughn.
