Despite losing these past two in pretty horrible fashion, I think we stand a good chance of winning the next 2 at home and tying the series 2-2. To quote Millar, in game 5 "Anything can happen." Nevermind the fact that he was talking about game 7.

To be truthful...if Olerud hadn't hurt his foot by his own action...Boston would not have won 4 in a row!

Go BOSOX..go Olerud

:D

what is it with you and Olerud??

....it takes a team to win games. I'm not a huge Millar fan but we have won a LOT of games with him in there too. If you want to get on someone or something get on the pitching staff to throw 8 inning shutouts.

Its still possible to win 3 in a row against this team, especially considering we matched up well against them earlier in the season, but I don't know. Just because you can come back facing elimination, it doesn't mean its a given. I'm sick and tired of the assumption that last year was a blank check for all future playoff series and we can spot any team 2 or 3 wins. Here's something to consider, last year we had a much stronger, reliable rotation with Schilling, Pedro, and Lowe. Yes, Lowe wasn't great during the season, but he was lights out (unlike Clement getting his head kicked in) in the playoffs. It goes without sayin this year's Schilling is nowhere in the area code of last year's Schilling and like him or not, O-Cab got us the clutch base hits when we needed it. Would Cabrera knocked in Graffi last night? Who knows, but for the love of God, please stop comparing last year's special team with this one. They are NOT the same.

As for that smug jackass Guillen...

Wells did great last night, definately not his fault, I'd give him another shot at a win in game 5. Also, didn't Arroyo give up like 5 runs against the W. Sox in Chicago? i think he lost the 4th game in that series.

I think that we will win the next two games. Won't be easy, but I feel like this series is going five. Of course game five is where it gets difficult. I think I would start Arroyo, or maybe Paplebon. The Red Sox defininitely have a team that could do it, but that is far from meaning that they will do it. They are in trouble, and need to fight HARD to win this series.

From what i've seen of your team, if there is a game 5, I would give the ball to Papelbon. Arroyo seems like a 50/50 chance of stinking up the joint everytime he takes the ball. Paplebon has looked pretty good against us for the most part. I'm still surprised Dinardo got left off the roster. The guy was just impressive when I saw him

yeah, but for Jeremi Gonzalez??

it doesnt make any sense to me either dude. yes DiNardo is a lefty reliever but cmon what's his job title? its a long reliever which means he can face both lefties and righties. Tuesday night showed why Jeremi shouldnt have been brought on as he allowed 4 extra runs to make the game into a blowout. He's streaky at best

September

Lenny Dinardo- 1 ER in 13.2 innings (0.69 ERA)

Jeremi Gonzalez- 6 ER in 7.2 innings (7.04 ERA) facing number of righties!!

You guys can come back. We were down two in the 2001 Division Series against Oakland and came back three to win it. We also lost our first 2 games in Oakland. Anything is possible -- I mean you really have to believe "Yogi" -- he was totally correct in saying "It ain't over til it's over". I don't give up on my team til the last out of the last inning.

Anyway -- have tickets to tonights game with the "Big Unit" pitching. Can't wait -- hope it isn't rained out!!

Good luck to all teams.
