  1. "Classic Change of Scenery Upswing for a Former All-Star"......I like that one.
  2. I think the Yanks are in trouble at the moment. Matsui is a great player and the lack of depth there will hurt them. They will make a run later in the season after George deals for an all-star outfielder or perhaps Torre moves Aaron Small to outfield and he hits 40 HRs for them. I do not feel safe at all.
  3. I think that simply moving to Fenway will help both of them, but honestly I'm not expecting anything amazing from them. Still looking for Manny and Ortiz to carry the offense. Vtek and Nixon should be solid and my hope is that Crisp produces well. Anything we get from the other guys is a bonus.
  4. Looper is a FA but we definitely dont want him on the Sox. He would be a terrible fit. I wouldnt mind Gordon, but I dont see that working out well. Mota, Foulke(if healthy) and Timlin arent the worse choices either though. Perhaps we should pick up some better middle arms instead of a closer.
  5. I agree. Not someone I want to get back for Manny. Honestly I still dont want to get anyone back for Manny. He's too good to let go. He will be happy again in two monthes. Keep him and let him and Ortiz tear it up again next year.
  6. Im looking forward to it as well. Should be fun. COurse its gonna suck having to wait all winter before we get to see anything. Im excited for Beckett, but I have this sneaking feeling Lowell is gonna play really well next year. No real reason other than he has played well before and I want it to happen.
  7. That's it!! Gotta go as Big Papi for Halloween this year. Don't know how Im gonna pull it off, but Im sure I'll come through in the clutch. I'll start working on it right after I finish this crossword puzzle: CreepyCrossword I can never finish these things.......
  8. Good for Girardi. I think he will be a good fit and a good manager down the line. Gotta respect that.
  9. Obviously anyway we go is a risk. Too old, too slow, too weak of an arm, not good enough batting numbers. THere's not one CF out there up for grabs that has everything. Rocco and Corey are chances I'd like to see, or Preston Wilson as well. I think they just need to go for a speedy leadoff guy and let the other offense take care of itself.
  10. I would agree. I voter other because of Pujols. With some of the guys that went down for the Cards this year he carried that team. If he's gonna win it any year......and he's been very deserving other years.......this is the year he should. I think Jones will win it, but Pujols should.
  11. I can see the hard work angle. I just wish that the roid stuff wouldnt be a problem but it is. I want to believe he's off and doing this on his own, but I have doubts. Makes me feel like he might not deserve it. Not a huge complaint, just pricking the back of my mind.
  12. I think that we will win the next two games. Won't be easy, but I feel like this series is going five. Of course game five is where it gets difficult. I think I would start Arroyo, or maybe Paplebon. The Red Sox defininitely have a team that could do it, but that is far from meaning that they will do it. They are in trouble, and need to fight HARD to win this series.
  13. I really think that the Red Sox can make a run for this series playing in Fenway, but the White Sox are quite a good team. Gonna be tough to pull this one off.
  14. I definitely want Manny to stay in Beantown. Not that I would be surprised if he left.....it only makes sense: Boggs, Clemens, Vaughn, Nomar, .....Manny?...........not too surprising......and we wont get even close to face value for him.
  15. Too bad about Miller. Definitely had hope that he would return to pre-injured form. Perhaps the joke staff will pull great playoff performances(if we make it) like Lowe did last year.
  16. Gonna be a tough series this weekend. Sweating bulllets. But at least I can turn to my new "rally monkey": http://www.ditty-o.com
