who is giving up?? maybe someone new to the game but the way I see it....the White Sox may have used up all there runs in one game. They were obviously pumped up but they now have to deal with our three veterans who have more experience in the playoffs than the whole White Sox team put together. Not to mention two of the games are at home. I always thought it was an advantage to the away team in the 1st round cause the Red Sox need to think if they can win 1 game...then we go to Fenway where that place will rock as always and the Red Sox will put on a nice display I'm sure.

.....but please could we keep Scott Podsednik off the damn bases

I agree with you that it's not even close to being over. However I take issue with your statement that the White Sox are "Overrated". Overrated by who, because it sure isn't the national (or even the local) media. We got no publicity or respect as a quality team all season, especially when it comes to ESPN. Most, if no all of their analysts have talked about us as being lucky to be in the playoffs and not a real contender. All we see on ESPN is Boston and Yankees reports so I don't know where you're getting that...

Trust me, he's good, but he played out of his @ss yesterday. He strikes out way too much for a leadoff man and unless he keeps this freakish hitting up, you'll see what I mean when he starts whiffing.

i was kinda surprised when i saw scott podsenik's stats for 2005... 25 RBIs for an entire season, wow thats sub-par to say the least. And his HR in the 8th inning was his first one since 2004. he said in an interview he changed his swing moreso to just hit groundballs so he can get on base and do some base stealing, alright...

The difference then and now is you had Pedro Martinez, Derek Lowe and a dominate Curt Schilling. You guys dont want to flirt with being down in the hole 0-2 again esp with that pitching staff. That said I still think you guys will win tonight behind David Wells.

i said over-rated

i do apologize cause they have not gotten too much respect, its those commentators were making Posednik look like Rickey Henderson, and Perz as the greatest cather of all time

im speaking with emotion so ignore me

GO SOX

No one thinks you guys are done. This iss usually the type of game that lights a fire under your ass and then you go on an 8 game winning streak. :(

I agree with most posters here. Virtually no one thinks its over. Heck, most people who predicted Red Sox in 4 are still doing so.

On Pods, he had one of his better games, but aside from the HR, he had games like that for us all season long before he got hurt. If he can consistently run during these playoffs, I like what our offense can do.

Cub fans will die if the ChiSox go all th eway!

You got that right! At least, some of them. A lot of Cubs fans are also White Sox fans, but between the two fan bases, it is a race for which team wins it all again first.

Now the Red Sox got Clement who has sucked the whole second half, they have Wells Wake and Schil going the next 3 games, so are chances have got to be better than yesterday

Boston really, really needs to win today. A split back home and they'll take the series. 0-2 hole is a tall order.

A tall order yes, However unlike the yankees we have done it twice (Oakland 03), (Clevland 99)

Excuse me while I go kill myself. The ChiSox were never meant to be taken lightly. 2003 all over again, I hope. Argh. No Pedro or Lowe this time around though :( At least bring it back to Chicago so if they win the series they can do it over there with their fans, I don't want them celebrating at Fenway.

I don't care about 2003. I don't care about 2004. All I care about is 2005.

What happened in 2003 and 2004 doesn't matter now. It doesn't matter if we've come back from being down 10 games before. The past is the past.

That being said I dont think we're dead in any sense of the word, but I certainly am not as confident as I was a few days ago.

what? So ATL 96 and OAK 01 dont count?

3 games in a row are not impossible if that Pinhead coach does the right thing and give Olerud a few games in a row so he can do what he can do...like win games for BOSOX!

When will he ever learn that you can't keep a great player on the bench then put him into a game in the 8th or 9th innning every 3 games down the stretch.

I have always had faith in Ole but the way he has been treated here it is definitely difficult for him to perform to his full capacity.

Millar was put in the 6th spot days ago and what does Pinhead penguin do yesterday...Puts him in position 8...what a F'n MORON!

Hey Pinhead Penguin coach...put Millar in there again and say GOODBYE to the World Series...sorry guys and ladies but I have to go and shoot myself again...I missed the last 2 times. :dunno:

Go Bosox!!! Tough road ahead.

2004 still burns in my memory, I won't believe the Red Sox are dead until I see the final score. It does look abit tough with some of the pitching that you guys have, but Curt's always been a big game pitcher, and maybe you'll get a good outing out of Wakefield.

I'm surprised Dinardo got left off the playoff roster, he seemed to be a real good pitcher form what I saw.

Anyway, I hope your team holds up its end of the deal and creams the White Sox 3 in a row. I may hate your team, but it is always special when its Yanks-Red Sox for the pennant. Good luck =P

Now if this was going back to chicago and you were down 0-2, I'd say it's over.

Yeah that would be a pretty tall order. I dont know of any Yankee fan who really thinks the Red Sox are dead, they may secretly wish it though...

Posted
If your a yankee fan and think the redsox are dead? than look in the past n remeber wut happened last year.

To be truthful...if Olerud hadn't hurt his foot by his own action...Boston would not have won 4 in a row!

Go BOSOX..go Olerud

:D

If this team can start hitting again, they could slug three wins. The key to this, like before is one game at a time. With Wake and Schill at home I can certainly see good things happening at Fenway.
Posted
we will have a Game 5

redSox dont lose at home!

Be careful what you say, we have no reason to be cocky about winning any games right now, however with Wake and Schilling going, its a real good chance their could be a game 5, in which case i would start Bronson and just Shut DOwn Clement

Posted
Look, guys... I'd like to believe the Red Sox will show their flare for the dramatic and take three straight, and I understand that there's no team in baseball that's more capable of doing it... but if you play with fire, you're eventually going to get burned.
