anybody who thinks the Yankees are done is insane. You people, above any, should know that we're not done. The Sox were in a similar spot at this point last year..actually i think they were farther out.

Still plenty of baseball to be played....the division race isnt over...and if we cant come through there we compete with Cleveland and Oakland for the WC.

I'm gettin pretty confident, if Schill pitches like that for the rest fo the year, then I'm pretty sure we'll take it. Wake can go 9 or even 10 innings in any games where he doesnt get lit up, Wells before last night was phenomanal, and Arroyo went 8 in hist last start. Smalls impressed me last night, but not sure he can go the rest of the year pitching the way he is, Johnson has been terrible all season compared to what he used to be. Wang is an above-average pitcher at best, at least this season. Chacon i think is ur best pitcher, and thats not sayin much.

They are barely fighting off the final nails. Chacon, Leiter, and Small aren't good pitchers. If they are the backbone of your staff, you've got to question your chances.

The Yankees aren't the Red Sox. Don't compare the two. Last year's Red Sox, were much better, than this Yankee team in 2005.

You are right that there is a lot of baseball to be played, but it's awfully hard to make up those many games, when you don't have a pitching staff to carry you into October.

Oh, and Cleveland, and Boston are both better ballclubs.

Johnson is our best pitcher. Look at his last few starts. Your pitching isn't exactly 1 million times better either.

Neither club's pitching is good. That's why no one will pull way ahead. The Yankees might creep up to 1 1/2 game back, but the pitching isn't good enough to start a long streak.

In order for the Yankees to win the division, they need to hope the Red Sox go 10-10 the rest of the way, and somehow they go 15-5. Is it likely? Not really, but it could happen.

The difficulty for the Yankees now is, Say we win tomarrow, we'll be 3 games out, that means from then untill we play Boston at Fenway, we need to out win the Red Sox by 2 games from now untill then or else we manditorily need a sweep for the division, becuase even if we win 2 outta 3, we'd only pick up 1 game, so we'd need to be out by only 1 to start. Thats why we need to take tomarrows game, and then, for reasons to ease my nervs, go on like a 14 wins in 16 games and get it to 1 game out when we play in Boston.

And to me, truth is, if were only one game out when we play Bostob at the end of the month, then I think well have either clinched or only need one win for the Wild Card

So what? The way our bats work our pitching doesn't have to be "St. Louis Cardinals" perfect. I wish I could find all the offensive categories we are first in, because they showed the graphic on FOX, today. 800 f^cking runs scored this season? Are you joking, that's phenominal.

Thats what Sox fan in tex said, thats why I said it'd be stupid to count the Yankes out, cuz he made it clear, he thinks the Yankees are out

Are you joking me? ttt this thread when the season is over and the Sox will be on top. What, do you want to put $$$ on it? If it's even a semi-close race going into the final seven games (all which are on the road for the Yankees), Baltimore and Boston will rock your pitching staff to no extent. Jaret Wright, Randy Johnson, Shawn Chacon, Aaron Small, a hurt Wang... what an embarrassment.

You run Wang, Small and Chicon out there in the playoffs or a tight playoff race and see what happens. I'm watching the same Yankee team you are, don't kid yourself and think that you have a chance at catching the Red Sox.

Its not like he said it wasn't, he said your pitching isn't that much better than our pitching.....I don't know what your trying to get across talking about your phenominal run support that has apsolutly nothing to do with what he said

Who cares, I'm not the one calling it over when theres over 20 games left this season, including 4 vs each other, which is exactly how many were out, Thats why its stupid. Do you know what happened in the 1978 season, the Sox had a 10+ game lead on the Yankees, and probably did exactly what your doing now, counted them out. The Yankees then went on to come back, force a one-game playoff, and many may remember the term f***en Bucky Dent. I'm not here to talk about the past though. The Yankees have a lot of games left, and some of them are agenst bad teams, and I really could care less about the outcome of games in the past, because it really has no effect in my mind in the next game. And I musta forgot that you have 5 starters that are each 18-0 with ERAs under 1, oh yea wait, you don't. If the Yankees Starting rotation is that horrible, how come its only bad enough to be 4 games worse than yours. So in other words, the Red Sox starting rotation is only worth the better side of four games, well if the Yankees rotation sucks, then the Red Sox rotation suck with the exception of 4 games, is that what your saying, doesn't really make sence to me.

You run Wang, Small and Chicon out there in the playoffs or a tight playoff race and see what happens.
And when you play a team that has shutdown starters where your offense can only score 3 runs a game, then you'll see what happens

Yea, I'm watching the Yankees who should be 12 out right now, but are only 4, I'm not looking for the Yankees to catch the Sox, I'm looking for them to surpass them

you guys certainly arent out of it, and I am still worried about the yankees. With all your injuries and with a piecemeal staff it is extraordinary to see the yanks only 4 back instead of 12. But with that said the team appears old to me, and not as intimidating as the yankees of the past..hopefully the yankees will be eliminated entirely from the playoffs--and while we are driving towards another championship yankees fans can fight among themselves..

It might be the best thing to happen to the yanks in a long time. there is a lot of dead wood in the bronx..but really what happens to the yankees is inconsequential as long as long as we keep winning.

Now you're pulling out moral victories because you're ONLY FOUR GAMES BACK? But hey, don't take my word that your pitching staff is horrible, then. I'll just give you a link to the .413 winning PCTG Tampa Bay Devil Rays fan website and I'll let them comment on your pitching.

I'm sure you're also worshiping Chad Pennington now that the Jets are already down 17-0 to Kansas City and K.C. is driving again right before half, aren't you?

I didn't say anything about your offense. I said something about your pitching. Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house or however that saying is. Say what you want about our pitching, but also look at your own. Plus both offenses are great. Say Giambi keeps this up, I'd say it puts us even if not better.

Wow, you really must have nothing to respond to what I say, if you have to talk about a totallyu different sport at a time when the Yankees beat the Sox

If Giambi is Giambi in the playoffs, that's a deadly 1 - 5.

wow if you had noticed the time he posted that it was halfway through the game, not after it

Again: Our pitching is fine. If you want you can look at the last ten games or so and what our pitchers have done, I have the link in my sig and type that up after every game. And since when is your offense great? Since August 1st we've scored 237 runs and you've scored 192. That's a difference of FOURTY-FIVE RUNS. Cram those stats into your small head. Don't even compare your offense to ours just because juiced Jason Giambi hits some homers.

I made my point above what I said about the Jets. I just said that about the Jets to make sure you knew what a moron you look like trying to compare Boston and New York. What are you going to tell me next... the Jets stand a chance against the Pats this year?

Either way, why would you talk about a totally different sport

Oh yea, if the Jets are doing bad, it'll change my mind about how the Yankees Pitching staff is

No, but your talking about how phenominal your team is, how great they score runs, and all that, but its only so great to be 4...checkl that...3 games better than us, so I guess 3 games is supposably the difference between a phenominal pitchingstaff, great batters and all that and sucking, having no good pitchers, and all that???
