The Yankees must lead the league in most runners left on base. If you watch each game on a consistant basis you know what I'm talking about. This was an inning a few weeks ago:

A-Rod lead off double

Jorge Posada K's

Tino Martinez K's

Tony Womack K's

You have to wonder what are they thinking when they go up to the plate.

Yeah I try to watch almost every game, if not live on the encore, and I have absolutely no idea what they are thinking. It's not like this is a young club with little experience, these guys are vets and should either play little ball to get a guy to third with less than two outs or just relax at the plate and not try to hit a homer everytime.

Don't take this the wrong way, because its not coming from the Red Sox fan part of me. The Yankees don't seem like a team at all. They have no "charisma guy" that can hold the clubhouse together. It probably stems from the Boss's behavior/grooming mandates. I think it is something that the FO needs to reasses.

I understand, one of the reasons why I joined this board is to see the Red Sox side of things. I think the Yankee front office in general is a joke. They misjudge players all the time. Wheater its signing Tony Womack to a 2 year deal or thinking that Bernie Williams could still play a good CF or signing Carl Pavano based on one year or signing Jaret Wright or having a horrible back up catcher and a horrible bench or signing Gary Sheffield when you could have signed Vlad Guerrero. Did you know that Cashman had a deal DONE for Vlad Guerrero but the boss shot it down saying "NO I want Sheffield". That move not only will kill us in the future but its currently killing us because Sheffield adds to what might be the worst defensive OF in the league. The bullpen is a joke. The front office felt they could hand the 7th inning to a guy that has a career 5.50+ ERA instead of getting a legit reliver. It goes on and on. As a friend of mine said "If I had 200 mill to burn the Yankees would never lose".

Wow. Now that is a harsh, HARSH, reality. :thumbdown

I have a feeling that you, as a Yankee fan, will have to endure a bit more of that until the Boss steps down. He's a great businessman, but doesn't know s*** about baseball.

Agreed, Cashman is the front man for what really is a roundtable of GM's. Some days Steinbrenner listens to Cashman other days he listens to the idiot Billy Conners and other days its Mark Newman.

The YES commentators are more quiet tonight than any other game this season...

Which is weird, because usually in games like these they don't shut up about the most useless, meaningless things.

Yankee replacements....

Position: Original --> Replacement

RF: Sheff --> Bubba Crosby

LF: Matsui --> Lawton

CF: Williams --> Womack

1B: Giambi --> Flaherty

2B: Cano stayed in game

SS: Jeter --> Bellhorn

3B: Rodriguez --> Phillips

C: Posada --> Will Nieves

This is why I love expanded rosters...

me too, favorite time of the year...except when we're in a race rather than 40 games up like usual.

Al Leiter proved tonight that he won't be able to get out a Major League lineup. As a team, Oakland is one of if not the best in pitchers per plate appearance and Leiter is one of the worst. Don't want to see him start in the playoffs if we can help it.

Gotta go out and win tomorrow, it is pretty damn important.

I was planning on watching the whole game, despite the fact we were down big. However I saw Forrest Gump was on so I watched that instead.
