Anybody see the play last night?

Sheffield flies out on a nice play by Dye, Sheffield must've been given the hit and run sign, so he needs to run back to first. When Dye throws it back in, A-Fraud looks at the ball and then sticks his foot out and kicks the ball away, preventing what would have been an easy DP. Interference was not called this time.

It was clearly intentional, and typical A-Fraud.

the replay is actually on MLB.com. You can go to the video sections and get the play of Dye making the catch against the wall, and the A-Rod ball kicking is in that replay.

He didn't make a physical kicking motion, but he watched that ball all the way from right field, and made absolutely no effort to get out of the way. I could very easily see a guy who's willing to slap Bronson Arroyo get in the way of that ball.

Considering his teammate was on his way back to first, A-Rod, who HIT THAT BALL, was also in between first and second, taking his sweet ass time getting off the field AND he watched the throw coming back to first. A player who's widely considered the best in the game can certainly judge that throw and tell that it's coming right for him, and a more honest player probably would have gotten the hell out of the way.

After what I saw him do in the playoffs against the Sox last year when he slapped the ball outta I think it was Arroyo's glove im not surprised he cheated in typical Yankee fashion.

did anyone hear about also during last night's game, something that yankee fans on here posting all sorts of bad things about sox fans cuz of that fan "punching" sheffield--Last night a yankee fan punched scott podsenik while he was catching a foul ball hit by jeter into the stands

That was clearly a mistake. I dunno how much of a mistake Mr. House's was. The fan was going for the ball, then realized oh crap here comes Pods and closed his fist so he probably wouldn't break any fingers. Don't take it too seriously, then you sound like Yankee fans themselves. I mean, Pods did go jumping into the stands, Sheff was just on the field.

why, so his temmatecould be duble u d hurt their cances of winning.

I dont see everyodys problem wth this, ts not cheatng, its smart baseball (if intentional, which it might not have been). He tried to take a sitution and use it to his advantage, same thing with the Arroyo play, except that time it was a little more obvious and we were penalized for it.

So everyone stop crying about it, its not like it was against you guys or anything like that, and its really not a big deal, it didnt affect the outcome of the score or anything like that, so just drop it.

No it's not, the guy has frosty hair, he deserves to be the bitch.

Yes thank you. Somoene else noticed that. There isn't a straight man in the world that frosts his hair.

The headline on one of the New York papers after A-Rod hit the 2-R HR off of Schilling called him a "TRUE YANKEE" ... well, this another reason why I agree. Typical Yankee.

Tex, i noticed in ur sig it says Yankee Dynasty 1913-2000. Um, we werent too great in 1913, in fact we didnt win a pennant until 1921, and didnt win a World Series until 1923. So thats when that current dynasty started, and lasted up until about the mid/late 60's. (in fact it could be argued that there were several seperate dynasties in that time period, but the fact is they still won consistantly winning multiple championships in each of those decades). Then we had a "mini-dynasty" in in the late 70s started with our pennant win in '76, followed by our 77 and 78 championships, and concluded with the loss of the '81 World Series. Then our most recent dynasty began in 1996 (some say '95 because thats when we went to the playoffs, but i say 96 because that was the start of the Joe Torre era) Anyways, our recent one began in '96 and concluded after Game 7 of the 2001 World Series. Hence the name of the Buster Olney book "The Last Night of the Yankee Dynasty". But some could argue that the dynasty is still going on, because if you think about it just because we didnt win it all in 2001 we still won the pennant, we won the division in 2002, we won the pennant in 2003, and made it to the ALCS in 2004, just because you dont win the Series every year doesnt mean that you arent still a dynast. Just take the dynasty of the '20s. We won our first title in 1923, and didnt win another until 1927, and many still consider that a dynasty regardless of the 3 years without a title.

Not that any of this is significant, i just like correcting ignorant Sox fans who dont know what theyre talking about.

It's not cheating until you get caught, and he got caught last October. That definatly is not smart baseball ... especially if your already out and your on your way off the field. Did you ever hear about any great players ever smacking balls out of peoples hands or kicking them around? Rickey Henderson is one of the best base runners ever, yet I can't quite ever remember him doing either. Are you telling me A-rod is a smarter base runner than Rickey?

It doesn't matter who the Yanks were playing when it happened. It's a bitch move made by a true bitch. Smacking and kicking balls isn't part of baseball.

i didnt say it was smart baserunning, i said it was smart baseball because he was trying to take advantage of a situation to help his team win. And how do you know Rickey never did it, he played a LONG time, and has played indy ball the last 2 years. Have you watched every single one of his minor league. major league. and independant league games to verify that he has never done it.

And i acknowledged the fact that he was caught with the Arroyo play

26 to 6: I think you think too much. But it's very amusing. What was that last part?

A-Rod's going all Reggie Jackson on us...umm, I guess this is not the place to laugh about it. Oh those Yankees, they'll do just about anything to win.
