ill leave you with one word, steroids

OK, I'll go with that. Whether he's taking steriods or not, (I think he isn't) IT DOESN'T MEAN JACK s*** WHAT WE THINK! The only thing that matter is what those test are saying, and MLB has no reason to hold back a positive test on Giambi.

why are all of us red sox fans getting mad at sheffield? i love this guy! anything that is going to cause some kind of disfunction in the yankee clubhouse should be applauded. sheffield just became my favorite yankee for the time being. f*** all those yankee bitches!!!!

ok hot shot, game 4 of the october playoffs is on the line in the 14th inning, who do you choose to come up to bat, fat head giambi or big papi?

Haha, you're more of a dumbass now. That was Game 5 of the October playoffs, not game 4, Good try though.

Anyway, I'd take Ortiz, period. He's the most clutch player I know, but why does that make Ortiz better then Giambi, and as I stated in my first post "RIGHT NOW". Ortiz is a fantastic player, who is a fan favorite (and my favorite) but I'm not as biased as you are, and I can look at baseball stats, objectively.

Everybody loves MO! :D And I remember DJ was saddened that Tino was let go, but he's back and I read an "SI" article where Tino was coaching A-Rod on how to handle the NY media. Of course the core Yankees are going to be closer than the FAs who were brought in. Not everyone's going to be best friends, but it doesn't explain why Sheffield's hot and cold toward his teammates. Didn't he once say that he, and the rest of the team, has A-Rod's back in case...something happens?

If A-Rod invited Sheffield to shoot his next deoderant commercial, maybe that'll smooth things over.

I guess I would take a bunch of yakkers who produce over a bunch of pacificts who don't. But they haven't produced on a consistent basis. But thus far they haven't "earned" the "right" to throw a tantrum and demand having their wives flown everywhere they go. Got to conserve costs on some level.

People make Sheffield (and supposedly Pavano) make it sound like wearing the pinstripes suck, and there was a time when Joe DiMaggio was so thankful that he spent his entire career in a Yankee uniform. Times have changed. <_>

um yeah they held back the test results until Raffy did his 3000th hit

Dumbass please, quit lowering everyone's IQ by continuing your pathetic arguement. Raffy had a MILESTONE to reach, Giambi doesn't have one. So your logic is, "Yeah their holding Giambi's test back, because he's uhh, err, umm f*** u, how dare u ever praise a yankee, trol!!"

Posted
Well why the hell did they hold back the tests? I don't give a s*** about some damn milestone. And I wouldn't be surprised if they're doing the same with other tests.

You may not, but the people who want to see Raffy Palmerio get his 3,000 hits do. Milestone = heightened interest, and heightened interest = more ticket sales, and more ticket sales = more revenue for the MLB.

I don't even care what the two of you are arguing about. Crespo grow up and make an argument without insulting the person your arguing with. I'm really getting tired of reading your posts where you make no point and just insult people. If it were up to me ... :banned:

Anyway, I don't really underestand why Sheffield is shooting his mouth off now. The Yanks had what, 3 game winning hits in the last week? And now you decide to run your mouth off. Look Gary the media is always going to have their favorites ... deal with it. Jeter is going to be the golden boy in NYC until he retires, maybe until he dies. Gayrod is producing more than you are Gary, and there is only so much room in the news paper. Bottem line, get over it. If it were up to Ca$hman you wouldn't even be on the team. Be happy that you're where you are and shut up.

Nah, Cashman tried dangling him out for trade. And then Sheff got all "angry" and put up those monster numbers. ;) So if he's "angry" right now, as a Yankee fan I'm going to take his production. With that mouth, and that glove, he better be an RBI machine (sorry if I took that from you guys about Manny). He's hitting .400 with RISP.

There were a lot of other things that Sheffield said that were well...strange, but that's not even the word for it. He accused the media for turning "this" into a race issue, and I'm not even going there, but I'll just say that he's off on that comment.

This crap does show up when the Yankees are beginning to win. <_ but when they suck who wants to be the guy pile it on had indians swept steinbrenner might issued another was pretty impatient asked him comment at wright rehab start>

The other things is, from what I heard Buster Olney say on ESPN, Sheffield might be Jeter's best friend on the team, aside from Posada. :o And I distinctly rememeber earlier in the season when Sheffield defended A-Rod, saying that he and the rest of the Yankees have Rodriguez's back in case there's any scuffle. So ehh, why oh why would he say this, don't know, frankly don't care that much. The team's more concerned with pitching, defensive woes, soothing Sheffield's bruised ego doesn't register.

A captain leads by example, Sheff, now if you're referring to yourself in this pompous article, which I can only assume you are, go out there and just play.

OR we could also attach a big "C" on DJ's uni, so you can tell for sure who's the captain of the team. ;)

Well I was talking about when the Yanks got Sheff in the first place. I remember there being a player Ca$hman really wanted, but George wanted Sheff. I also remember everyone calling it a mistake to get Sheff and not the other player(can't remember who it was ... was it Vlady?).

How could this have anything to do with race? I think Sheff might have just been shooting his mouth off there.

Like I said it doesn't matter what Sheff thinks, DGay is the golden boy. He's the captain, the leader, whatever you want to call him. Sheff if you want to be the leader then find yourself a new team, because DGay has that spot on lock.

AHHH!

The player that Cashman was negotiating a contract with...

Vladimir Guerrero.

'Nuff said.

Hammer: It's called metrosexual.

Hahahaha. Your bashing Yankees? Wow I'm becoming a fan of yours more and more every day.

I thinkthe only real friends in that clubhouse are Jeter, Mo, Bernie, and Posada. Those guys are the only ones who have been there for the whole run the Yankees had in the 90's and I believe are the only ones who have bonded at all.

Your right plus Tino.

Yeah, in case you haven't noticed. Yankee fans are pretty fickle. ;)

People always talk about the moves the Yankee FO make that don't pan out, well here, this is a move that they DIDN'T make, that now, years later, they should've. Jumped. Well I can't lay this one on Cashman. THIS one goes to the top. <_>

So shut up, Sheffield. We had a shot at Vlad, and it would've been so cool to see TWO Yankee players pitching Pepsi - I'd drink to that. Plus, he has a CANNON of an arm, which would be good because Posada needs all the time he can get in case, *ahem* the ball takes a "nasty hop".

But if playing on a chip on his shoulder, so perceived by Sheffield, and he continues to whack the ball, then so be it.

Considering it's NY media, there might be some truth to that. However I doubt any journalist would mention race unless s/he was sure that the person implicitly implied that.

Wasn't he complaining that the reporters were crowding locker room space or something, and ran most of his Yankees out? At least someone's listening, Sheff. Certainly not your teammates, and not the fans.

I won't insult people who make good arguements, but people who are biased deserve to slapped down.

P.S. Thanks I know, it's called sarcasm.

LOL, Sheff can have his own reality show if no endorsements comes his way.

Sheffield's Lament: Being Me Means Being Misquoted and Misunderstood

No love lost:

Asked if Sheffield's reputation for speaking his mind made the magazine comments forgivable, Rodriguez said, "Every family has issues. If you look at what happens in other clubhouses, this is all very trivial. I love Gary. Over the course of eight months, if a family doesn't say things they regret or things from the hip, it's not real."

Hello prima donna:

Sheffield has had a long list of grievances this season. In spring training, he refused to appear on the YES Network or participate in the Yankees' taped scoreboard games because of a dispute over interest on the deferred money in his contract.

About the misquoted part, seems NY Magazine would differ:

Serena Torrey, a spokeswoman for New York magazine, said: "New York magazine stands 100 percent behind Stephen Rodrick's story. Mr. Sheffield's comments are all on audiotape."

And for my first post on this thread I just have to say: Thank you Gary. You have now let the world know just what Red Sox fans already know (or atleast me as a Red Sox fan).... Jeter is not a great captain and A-Rod is overrated. Thanks Sheff.

Tex, I was waiting for you and your avatar to show up.

But why isn't Jeter a good captain? Explain that part?

Of course A-Rod is overrated. Only person who should get $200 million is the one who cures AIDS or solves world hunger. But Scott BORASS negotiating your contract might also do the trick.
