i got to see vlad the impaler stick a fork in the yankees last night with his grand slam. im going again tonight. i was just wondering if anyone feels the same as i do. i think i like watching the yankees lose more than seeing the RED SOX win. it use to not be this way. is it because we have a championship now or are the yankees bigger *******s? someone please help me sort out my feelings!

I thought "whoever beats the Yankees" is the #2 team in Red Sox hearts. What does it matter if the Red Sox don't win? I'm not a psychologist, though.

Sweet misery this is going to be.

im not an angel fan although i love vlad guerrero. im not a dodger fan either. angel stadium is an easier drive for me so i go to more angel games than dodger games.

thats the problem with a lot of Sox fans....not all, but pretty close. there more concerned with the Yankees then themselves. When Theo's analyzing a possible trade he asks himself A: "Is this a guy the Yanks want and if so, we gotta snatch him up" or B: "Can this guy help us beat the Yankees?"

And the fans are the same, a lot of them prefer a Yankee loss opposed to a Red Sox win.

Yankee fans, I admit have taken it to a similar extent, but not as far as some Sox fans take it, and havent felt this way as long as Sox fans.

Sorry but Yankee fans do the same. Both have their rabid fans that hate the other just because they are fans of the Sox or Yanks. As I've said before, this rivalry lives now because of the fans, not the players.. They seem to be able to leave it on the field as for the fans.. That's a different story..

ok i think i figured out part of the problem. its the yankee fans. i hate them so much. the past 2 nights the angels win. the past 2 nights all i hear is yankee *******s talking s*** as they exit the stadium. "26 championships" is all they can say after getting beat. it makes me sick to my stomach how stupid they are. thats a big part of the reason i love seeing them lose.

Red Sox winning is much better. Especially now that we are in first. If they win the rest of their games, it doesn't matter what the Yankees do.

Was this necessary though? Jeter doesn't taunt the fans; he loves going on the road and doesn't mind when people boo the Yankees - but all bets are off when projectiles are thrown.

Michael,

During the July 18 game with the Rangers, Derek Jeter, on first and clearly upset, called for security and seemed to be pointing out a specific fan in the stands. Considering the vitriolic verbal abuse he routinely gets in Boston and some other parks, you and Ken Singleton speculated that perhaps something was thrown. What happened? What was the outcome?

Michele Davison — Watertown, N.Y.

KAY: Michelle,

Kenny found out that a couple of kids had thrown sunflower seeds at his face when he ran past first. He pointed them out, they scurried away before security could intervene, but returned later and were thrown out of the ballpark.,

Yeah, remember when George took Canseco off the market simply because he wanted to block the Sox? I bet a lot of fans were feeling the same way. Only got the Yanks a headache

you're right, it was wrong of me to say part A, because Cashman does it too to keep players from the Sox....btu I stand by the rest....in NY we're focused on us winning, if you guys lose its just a bonus, but we're not looking up at the out of town scoreboard all night to make sure you guys are losing

...Canseco was a Cashman move, George didnt want him. And in the Post last week Cashman was talking about when he got Canseco, he said it was to block the Blue Jays from getting him, not the Sox...but regardless

It's been a staple to go to find Oakland players and bring them to the Bronx for championships, huh? Giambi didn't turn out as billed, though.

Cashman, Tampa, George and his du jours of the moment...this year tops as how to spend $200 mil+ and solve nothing.
