Id rather have Jeter than A-Hole.

I'd like to win to get home-field advantage... and lets face it, A-rod's a better player.

A-Rod is hitting over .300 in the clutch and just because he has made a few errors at third base (although I don't think he has made one in awhile doesn't mean he is a bad third basemen. If you were to watch Yankee games on a daily basis, and I don't know if any of you guys do, then you would see that Alex makes some terrific plays.

I guess I'm just tired of how much all of the Red Sox fans hate A-Rod. It seems that every thread that has anything to do with the Yankees becomes an "A-Rod sucks thread". If I remember correctly the starter of this thread said something about Jeter not making the team, but nothing about Alex.

everybody doesnt like a player on a rival team of their hometown's--games played at yank stadium, fans erupt in boos for every sox player called up to the plate--This is the greatest rivalry in sports, so you really shouldnt expect any less ya know--besides yes i have an aspect of respect for yankee nation and that is not goin on yankee fan forum sites and posting a blog in each thread

Just out of curiosity, yankees228... why would a Yankees fan visit a Red Sox message board if they're so sensitive when it comes to having their team badmouthed?

It's good that unless, he wins the Final Vote for the AL (which he won't if my votes have anything to say about it), the All-Star game will be Jeter-free. I like the man (As much as my Red Sox fan-dom will allow me to, anyway), but I do believe he's overrated. What kills me most is how much ESPN goes crazy when he makes plays that really aren't anything special. Like him running over his teammate, or him cutting off a ball when he was in a position he had no reason to be in to begin with (and had Giambi (?) slid, would've been null and void), or him diving into the stands when a slide would suffice...

just because you hate him as a person and don't like some aspects of his game doesn't mean hes not the answer for 3B on the all-star team

he has a chance for the triple corwn (well not recently manny has been running away with ribies)

I don't think Jeter is overrated. He actually IS a great player. Unlike A-Rod.

What makes him great? I think that if he played anywhere but New York... nobody ever mentions his name. I don't mean to sound like I don't think he's good... but I think people calling him 'great' is what makes him overrated to me.

You're always going to get the age old argument of how great Jeter is because of his "clubhouse leadership", but I'm a 'what have you done for me lately' kind of guy, and Jeter hasn't done anything last year or this year. Therefore,

JETER, YOU SUCK.

You guys are diluted in your hatred for the Yankees to say that jeter is not a great player. You guys are completly out of your friggin minds. Jeter is if not the best baseball player in the game today.

Alright, as a Yankee fan I have to say that this year, Jeter had no chance at the ASG.. Why? Because he isn't the player he was the last six times he went. He, to me, is a ball hog, he's over rated. But because he's a Yankee I still support him, just not in the ASG.. We still have guys in the game, let's support them.. Jeter isn't the whole Yankee roster...

DV I am shocked, lol. A ball hog not really, over rated no. Does he get a little too much attention, maybe but he is on one of the most recognized teams, and in the media capital of the world yes. But I have a hunch I am not going to win this argument, lol. Wouldn't Sox fans like to have him over your shortstop now?
Posted
lol You shouldn't be shocked by me.. I'm not one to back them just because they are Yankees...lol Should we? Yes, do I? No.. Jeter just isn't up to all star potential this year, let's not mourn him. Let's not forget the others we have representing us. They need our support too.. To be honest I bet the Sox would prefer a Tejada over a Jeter..

Wow, didn't expect a Yankees fan to agree with me. You, sir, are awesome.

YANKEESRULE -- before an abundance of typos got in the way... were you meaning to say that Jeter is the best player in the game today? Please tell me that you weren't. He's a good player, and a great leader -- but then again, it's not terribly difficult to be the captain of a team with such massive a payroll.
