all I hear on the radio is Yankees this, Yankees that.....meanwhile you chowderheads have forgotten the Orioles...they have a fine team, better than the Sox or Yanks this year. So keep distressing about the Yankess, it shows an inferiority complex toward them...meanwhile watch the Orioles kick your ass... :harhar:

Well let's see if this holds through the whole year, before we jump to conclusions. Anyhow, good to have an O's fan on the site.

It's true, some Red Sox fans (and media) have an unhealthy obsession with the Yankees, but look at their track record. They've struggled before and rebounded, and why should 2005 be much different? They've got a talented bunch.

I admire what Baltimore has done to date, and honestly-- I HOPE they stay in the race all season long. It will make those games in September a lot more interesting. I'm just not sure they will maintain that level of play all season long. Ponson and Cabrera have been very inconsistent this season, and while Lopez has dominated the Red Sox over his career, and pitched well this year, he's had at least 5 starts this season where he's given up 5 or more runs.

Bruce Chen has really been the most consistent pitcher, and he's a journeyman who could finally be realizing his potential-- or he could fizzle in the second half.

If Eric Bedard can come back from his injury as strong as he was before it the O's will have a decent 1-2-3, but I still think Boston's rotation (when all arms are healthy) of Schilling, Wels, Clement, Miller, Arroyo, Wakefield is a lot stronger, and deeper than Lopez, Bedard, Chen, Ponson, Cabrera.

The Orioles will be one team buying at the trade deadline, but it remains to be seen what kind of talent will be available this season.

Welcome to the site.

red sox sure do have a bigger fan calling. even not countin this season as now world champs that they are. the red sox have sold out like 180 consecutive games datin back to end of 2003 and will continue to do that for years to come i can imagine. even tho baltimore has been doing very good, most games have been like a ghost town in camden yards, sellin half of the capacity B)

"i think yanks and redsox will both pass o's in 2nd half and will gun it out for divsion."

The Yankees are done. They're set to face a few competitive teams over the next week (yes, I do mean Tampa Bay), so they're going to slide further into their pit of quicksand.

Maybe next year.

I'll say it again because it feels good.

The DEVIL RAYS are too much of a threat to the Yankees right now for them to even think about whether they will catch up with anybody else.

Maybe next year.

I don't think Yankees will pass the O's however. Them and Red Sox and O's all have good lneups. The Red Sox and Yankees have older pitchers who should do good towards the end of the year. (IMO)

The yanks are going on one of their hot streaks as of late. Let's face it. The yankees are the best team in baseball hands down. They have won more games than any other team in baseball in the past decade. I've been really enjoying them suck this past spring but they have gotten their act together the past few games. Their 10 game win streak was a fluke because a few players got their s*** together. But now the whole team has their s*** together. It's been fun watching them in 4th place but now I feel they will be on top of the al east by the end of july. Randy Johnson has really pulled his stuff together and it's scary!

Here is why I feel the way I feel. The yankees have played terrible ball all year and are only 5 games out of first place and only 3 games behind the redsox!!!! Does anyone else see what I see? When the yankees play consistant baseball it's all over for the orioles and redsox.

Sorry but it's just the way I feel. And the wild card is coming out of the central or west so????

Ha. The great thing about the Yankees is that they probably will catch fire at some point. But it will be too late. They no longer hold any edge over the Red Sox. Simply put, the Red Sox can beat the Yankees now, anytime, any place.

That's what last year did.

And, once Schilling is added to the rotation in a couple of weeks and one of our starters is added to the bullpen, the division is going to be over. The Yanks better make up some ground before then or else... B)

hey sox fan girl i do take back what i had said about bellhorn, was just merely implying his strikeouts are in everybodys minds when he steps up to the plate. and at times we do need him he will send out a sacrifice fly, draw a walk while workin the opposing pitcher's count high, and even home runs like in game 6 against the yanks or last nite's 3 run shot into the bullpen. just hopin for the best for him to produce like he did last nite, offensively and defensively

I'm just really weary of the yankees thats all. While the yankees have sucked bad most of the season they are only two games behind the redsox at this point. We've had a great opportunity to jump way ahead of the yankees and put them in the back of our minds but we have played poorly too. This leads me to the conclusion that it's going to be a season long race in the al east and that the wildcard will come out of the west or central.

I'm just not dismissing the yankees out of this season thats all. I just dont want to jinx myself or the redsox by saying that it's over for them and then they come and bite u in the ass by late july. Does anyone else see my logic? or is someone else gonna call me a undercover yankee fan which is bs!!

They haven't had their share of games against other teams in in the Eastern Division yet.

If Red Sox simply play at .500 pace while the Yankees are facing the Blue Jays and Tampa Bay, they will maintain the margin.

Sorry Yanks. MAYBE NEXT YEAR.

we still won, so at 3 games ahead of the yanks. baltimore is at top slightly with us noe trailing by 2 games. they must be in a slide if rockies hold them to one run, and baltimore had actually stranded 11 batters. 2 times were bases loaded, but bothtimes brian roberts grounded out into double plays

Baltimore 39 - 27

Boston 37 - 29 2.0 games behind

Yanks 34 - 32 5.0 games behind

Toronto 34 - 33 5.5 games behind

Tampa 23 - 44 16.5 games behind

Here's my 'logic': The YANKEES SUCK. Take your time laughing at them, they'll be behind us for the entire year.

Here's my logic: The Yankees are old, the pitching is sub par, and I do not trust Canoe and Womack and the other players they have going out there evey day.
