  1. It depends on the pitch for me. If you got a cement mix slider that didnt slide and you turned on it, Ill gladly take the runs. IF you got the bat head to a tough location and then muscled it out, especially on a 2 strike count, thats beauty.
  2. Im trying to not drink on Mon,Tues,Thurs
  3. If you wanna lose weight, watch what you drink first. Can we cut out non diet soda? Cream and sugar in the coffee? Any beers or mixed drinks or glasses of wine we can cut? Im not a splenda avoidant, so its easy for me to lose weight. Harder if you are anti-fake sugar and a lot of people are. That makes it a bit hard. Spindrift NA seltzers are a good choice but expensive AF! Ive started keeping an 18 pack of Polar in the fridge and a 12 pack of spindrift. The polar are for after work so I have an alternative to a white claw/high noon and at night for general hydration. When I work out , I reward myself with a spindrift (NA)
  4. Mayer doesnt need to get hurt, he is already hurt. Have you noticed he hasnt played? Hes not like hurt-hurt, but hes still working back from the wrist, and that makes me think they are going slow with him and I wonder if hes hit at all in the offseason. He did add strength, so he has some body changes that he may need to get use to. Theres a good chance hes not ready by opening day. And Eaton has defensive versatility and is a righty, and has played well. Eaton can sneak on this team at 3b and then eventually platoon with Abreu.
  5. If Romans body wants to put on 20 lbs on muscle and that makes him a 1,000+ OPS guy but makes him more suited for DH than OF, to me, thats a good thing. And him and Duran swap spots in the batting order. I dont think it happens this year because hes still young and nimble enough. But there is a good chance that in 2029 hes playing 1b and is the best hitter in baseball.
  6. Who even eats triple cheeseburgers. Just make 2 burgers.
  7. Im not sure this is the case for opening day. His eventual spot on the 2026 team, yes. He'll either need to completely forget how to hit or get hurt. But Im not sure hes ready by opening day, and with 2 lefties in the opening series, he might take spend the first week or so in AAA especially because I dont think hes swung a bat since he hurt his wrist last year. Im not down on him. Because he hit the gym. Hard to bench him after doing what they asked. I think hes behind though.
  8. Being short can be a sneaky advantage. Small strike zone. David Eckstein. Termarr Johnson (Pitt prospect who is supposed to be a very good prospect). I think Durbin's height is actually an asset.
  9. I like Roman at DH because I dont like when they fight against the body type. Like how they kept Xander lean intentionally so he could stay at SS. I think the better approach is to let the body do what the body naturally wants to do, and if that changes a position - I just dont care. I take the muscles over the ability to play better D.
  10. I think Eaton makes it over Mayer (to start) Mostly because Mayer will still be ramping up, not because he will have perma lost his role for 2026. The most likley scenario is someone gets dinged up a bit between now and opening day and it works itself out.
  11. Roman Anthony is not particularly athletic or fleet-footed. And at 21, I expect him to bulk further, add weight/power but it may cost him the ability to play OF. KC is more nimble/athletic/fast. Just a better body type for OF. But we'll see. It would be a good thing, as far as Im concerned, if Roman loses his ability to play OF. Because it means he got yoked and could turn into the best hitter in baseball. And I dont believe that DHs are just DHs. I think in most cases, your best hitter should DH, keep him healthy. Unless you have another awesome you need to DH. In 2026, Manny would DH, for example, but not if Ortiz is on the team.
  12. Bummer, not sure he had much of a chance , but one less depth piece who could potentially hit lefties isnt great
  13. My opening day lineup: Anthony (LF) Story (SS) Duran (CF) Contreras (1b) Abreu (RF) Masa (DH) Durbin (3b) Narvaez (C) Cedanne (2b) Bench: Eaton, IKF, Wong, Monasterio (next 2 days vs lefties) Eaton (3B) Anthony (DH) Story (SS) Contreras (1b) Duran (LF) Durbin (2b) Abreu (RF) Narvaez (C) Cedanne (CF)
  14. KC has to earn his way onto the team first (pushing Roman to DH).
  15. Let the chips fall where they may. Im confident in my guys. Are you confident in yours?
  16. I dont think Mayer has a guaranteed spot on the this team.
  17. Theres more than one spot open. Let the battles begin.
  18. I just know hes going to lead the team in extra base hits (again) and I value that more than our #9 starter unlike some.
  19. He is my fifth favorite player on the team. 1. Crochet 2. Kutter Craw 3. Tolle 4. Story 5. Duran
  20. I could so go for a spikes hot dog right now
