  1. Id trade for a pitcher, just not Abreu or Duran.
  2. Im not against it, just want to show Moon how he is like we need to trade our outfield. Even maybe 2 because we cant put a prospect there (Garcia), but hes unwilling to put Tolle in his rotation.
  3. I backdoor the sweeper like a champ in the show. Nobody can hit it. Thing starts our so far outside and runs in. You gotta wait so long and everybody gives up the pitch. Maybe you can stay back long enough, but even then , you arent crushing it. If you dont give up its most likely a late-swing foul. Im not sure if its a realistic pitch in actual baseball but I woud imagine its dangerous cuz sweepers break a ton and if you back door it and it breaks too much its over the plate in the low 80s
  4. I want full scouting report? Anything with lateral movement that he can front door and back door. I think this is what led to Bello turnaround. When you can front door and back door a cutter its awesome. Especially when it is paired with a sinker. Sounds like a recipe for weak contact.
  5. Yes, over the last few weeks it does seem like he went from bernadollars to bernadonuts I might need a second coffee.
  6. More like "fixing the deck". Hey everybody , FredLynn is a poker cheat! FIxes the deck to deal himself aces!!
  7. Our SP situation begs for relief: Crochet - Has it all. A true top of the rotation piece who anchors your entire lineup both reg season and playoffs Bello - Has emerged as a true #2. Theyve even started letting him go through opposing lineups a third time, something only reserved for a few pitchers. Tolle - A stud of a prospect and a 6'6 lefty who dominates every stop. A must have in your rotation next year Gio - Will need to be resigned but really has come on as of late. Looking like a #2 himself who prob slots in as our #4 Dobbinss - A rookie leaving quite the impression before an injury zapped the remainder of his sesaon. But he looks like he can pitch in MLB Sandoval - A wildcard who last we saw was a #3 , might get squeezed due to all these studs Criswell - A guy who has come to earn our trust if ever needed for a spot start K. Crawford - Another forgotten man who should be much higher than way down here. Dude was a #2 pitcher as recently as 2-3 years ago and now hes our what #8? 7 of our top 10 prospects are SP. One has been previously mentioned. One is too young and one is prob for the pen. So heres another 4, pitchers 9,10,11,12 Fitts/Weis - not bad for #13,14 Oops forgot Kyle Harrison Meanwhile, when I sort by OPS+, of the full-timers that are guaranteed to be here for next year - Abreu is second. Duran is third. They are only behind Anthony, who is likely to have a bit of a sophmore slump next year when the league adjusts So we traded our best hitte this year (devers) and now you want to trade our new by default one of our best hitters because you can foresee us needing 12 pitchers when I just named you 15 Devalue offense much? We need 2-3 good hitters, Id sign one and trade some of our surplus of arms for one. Our lineup last night went Rookie Guy who is going to opt out and we could lose Story (not really a #3 guy and an injury risk, so we're not looking great here) Journeyman Journeyman Career minor leaguer Catcher Noodlebat Rookie But tell me how we need to trade offense because you want 5 excellent starers and 7 great ones behind them.
  8. So I think Tolle is a beast and needs to be in the top 4. Between Sandoval, Dobbins, Crawford, Fitts, Harrison, Early & Perales - I think this handles 5-7 Then just resign Gio. This is very good, it doesnt scream to me that we should trade one of our only power hitters (Abreu) or our emotional leader (Duran) Sho8uld we lose Gio, prob want a pitcher but I still dont think I trade Duran or Abreu. I would consider a trade for Keller or resigning May for the #4 (should we not keep Gio).
  9. Tolle is a beast and we should bring Gio back. Your #5 starter can be a .500 guy who doesnt start in the playoffs. Between Sandoval, Crawford, Dobbins, one shoudl be fine enough for #5 starter with the other 2 serving as solid depth. Plus more arms down on the farm. Crochet, Bello, Tolle and Gio do the heavy lifting. Meanwhile , we bat a catcher in the cleanup spot sometimes. This team needs offense more than it does pitching.
  10. Crochet, Bello, Tolle, Gio, Sandoval, Dobbins, Crawford, Harrison, Houck, Criswell Offseason should address the offense and bullpen.
  11. We have a very good rotation right now and you are adding Tolle, Sandoval, Dobbins, k. craw, houck We dont need Ryan.
  12. Im open to being talked into 3 platoons and a backup catcher, but i lean towards cutting wong for a fourth platoon and like bregman is catching 30%, fight me. I just dont care
  13. My only question is do you carry 3 platoons and a backup catcher or 4 platoons and have a non-catcher as your backup catcher. Teams are starting to move away from even having a backup catcher and being like hey, this dude who is already on our roster caught in HS, F it - hes the backup catcher. So theres spots to use on platoon players. Most players have splits. Like most of even the best hitters are average against either a lefty or righty (but mash the other)
  14. I remember on BDC , Moon had a bitter enemy. And they would go back and forth and back and forth. And every time it seemed like it was dying down, it would kick up again. And everyone was like why do you go back and forth with this guy so much. It gets annoying. And hes not so bad where you are justified in your forever war with this dude. I was one of the people telling Moon to chill and that the dude he was arguing with wasnt worth it. Then that dude started dropping hard N's with the full "er" .... My fiancé is Black. I went from annoyed that Moon followed around this dude kicking his "softlaw" butt all over BDC to rooting Moon on to "hit him again" and "bury this fool". Obvs I havent seen anyone here like that but you wont catch me telling Moon to chill. Unless hes coming at me.
  15. Abreu has HR power and this team doesnt exactly have that in spades. He plays a very solid RF and has a great arm. Sure he platoons, but most players have splits and maybe his are a little extreme but when you pair him with a dude who mashes against lefties, its a LOT of value from the position Duran, I consider to be, the leader of the team and the face of the franchise. Hes the emotional leader, the fighter, the energy guy. He gets in heads , whether that be on the basepaths or giving a stare down. I also think hes the only dude on the team who is willing to throw a damn punch and we need MORE of that in MLB. When I played, I was looking for any excuse to fight. But a lot of that was because I wasnt very good.
  16. "Fred" is a medical doctor and a hero who volunteers a lot of his time and helps a lot of people. He can be dense in his baseball opinions, and quick to punt on an entire decade if the team has 2-3 players he dislikes - but thats not the type of stuff that goes on your gravestone
