  1. Why? We have no problem keeping them. We have enough at bat opportunities for every outfielder currently on the roster. why are you presuming we need to trade any outfielder away?
  2. So you are implying that bres-slow should, in theory, be able to trade an outfielder, to fill a major need area! Is that the only reason you think we need to trade an outfielder?? because reality says bres-slow traded for an ace, one of the best pitchers in the major league, last off season and did not sacrifice anybody off the the major league roster! also, what major need area could any of our outfielders be used to procure in a 1 for 1 trade???? The alternative is our trading block outfielder would just a be a piece in a trade package to fill a major need item, but are there better options than a current Boston outfielder in the trade package? Ie: wouldn’t Tolle or early be more enticing to a team, because all teams need pitching, than a current Boston outfielder? I think people perceive we have a surplus of Boston outfielders, but keeping them all is also a viable option!!
  3. Do we really need to trade an outfielder? Anthony, rafeala, Duran, abreau in Boston. Garcia, Eaton and Campbell in Worcester. Maybe the outfield is too left handed hitting, but in theory the pieces fit fine as we are today!! plus if we trade/dfa yoshida, the DH spot opens up for additional at bats. (Fyi: Schrawber or Alonso could require a plan alteration, if they sign here) now, if we resign refsynder, that should be convincing evidence that bres-slow is trading one of our existing outfielders!
  4. Red Sox signed a 31 year old catcher from the braves minor league system today to a minor league contract.
  5. Ins’t what you said the definition of the word prospect?
  6. Assuming no trades: Crochet #1 and bello #3 are locks for Boston’s opening day roster. if 100 percent healthy. We have to assume Sandoval #4 is a lock for Boston’s opening day roster. now comes the hard part. We have Crawford. Harrison. Fitts, dobbins, Criswell, Tolle, early, perales, uberstine and drohan to sort out! 1.) I assume dobbins starts the year on the 60 DL. 2.) is early our 5th starter? 3.) Harrison and Fitts seem like excellent bullpen arms similar to Whitlock. 4.) Worcester gets Tolle, perales, uberstine and drohan. Plus dobbins when dobbins knee heals. that leaves Crawford and criswell? - does a team in desperate need of pitching claim Criswell?? (Good luck to that team) - is Crawford the 5th starter and early gets sent to Worcester? who does bres-slow acquire for the all important #2 slot? Chris sale is my vote, if I had a vote! Atlanta needs cost controlled pitching and an outfielder and a shortstop!! Hmmmm!!!! sweet Georgia pie!!! will giolito get and accept a qualifying offer??? Does the medical condition of giolito’s elbow eliminate bres-slow from offering the qualifying offer?? Lots to unpack with the 2026 rotation, but I believe bres-slow has a plan A and a plan B which could be altered based on who opts in and out versus if giolito gets a qualifying offer!
  7. I have always thought houck could be a decent closer for us! but maybe Chapman continues to defy Father Time !!!
  8. Any chance bres-slow could work out a trade for eury Perez of Miami? Seems like a much better option than alcanterra
  9. Maybe you are correct and bres-slow needs to pivot and find a new strategy
  10. Sometimes the gamble works and sometimes the gamble fails! I do not think it is fair to just a man’s gamble using 20/20 hindsight!
  11. Does bres-slow non tender houck? Only 4 million savings (estimated). But a decision he has to make
  12. Do we need a power bat at DH or first base. the albatross yoshida is the contract we need to move this offseason
  13. The most viable option for us is to develop our own pipeline of starters. We have a bunch of quality arms in the pipeline, Tolle, early, Witherspoon, fitts and dobbins just to name a few. Trading quality veterans with something in the tank, but on short contracts is the least expensive way to give the prospects extra time to develop, and keep us a playoff team! we need to stay away from expensive huge free agent contracts for starters that we pray can still pitch by the end of their contract.
  14. Bres-slow has said he is hunting a number 2 starting pitcher. What has bres-slow done in the past to acquire pitchers 1.) sign starters coming off surgery to two year contracts knowing the first year they will not pitch for us! 2,) trades! Crochet was a home run! May was a complete failure. bres-slow has a lot of quality arms in the funnel that need a little longer to be ready, dobbins, fitts, early, tolle and Witherspoon so maybe bres-slow goes for veterans (with post season experience) on very short deals! Seems like there are several guys that would fit us perfectly. But Sale should be on the top of the list. We have the assets that the braves would crave,
  15. I think Criswell, Grissom and 2 others are out of minor league options
  16. The Detroit reporters said skubal will not sign an extension and is focused on entering free agency
  17. Bres-slow says he wants to improve the infield defense! can we really keep story at short? Seems like in 2024 story was less a liability at 2nd base! defensively Mayer looks good at 3b. Yes he was rushed to the majors, but if he improves the strike out rate, he could be an answer I believe Casas has 1 remaining option if he were to start the 2026 season at Worcester. Which may be best thing for him long term.
  18. Rafeala and perales and Sandlin for Greene! Casas, cutter and Mullins to Miami for alcanterra Duran, Hamilton, Clarke and dobbins to Washington for McKenzie gore!
  19. Sale has 1 year left on his contract and his stuff is absolutely filthy still! Atlanta needs pitching and we got some to spare!! seems to me, this is a trade that can happen with very little effort!
  20. Do we know if Clarke solved his blister problems?? The kid has amazing stuff! Just no idea where it is going when he releases it
  21. This year we had a few promising pitching prospects miss time due to injury. Does anybody have any update on any of them?
  22. Fix the rotation after crochet and bello and this is a playoff team! The better the rotation, the further into the playoffs we go! if (big if) skubal is available. Why wouldn’t we be making that phone call
  23. One thing about hang’em Chaim, he signs a lot of guys that are below average on defense yoshida (snd some cash) and Sandlin and another prospect for gray? Might be worth a phone call by bres-slow to see if anything is there
  24. And how do you if you do not ask? Or are you privy to the inner workings of the Pittsburgh organization?
