Isn’t JD an injury waiting to happen? Are we saying that between banana boy pedroia, JD, price and Hanley, we are trying to build a dl that is more expensive than the entire Tampa bay roster?

I saw him play a lot in those previous years that he played, but none in 2017, and I thought his defense was average and his arm pretty decent. He was always a guesser at the plate with a big wind swing, not very good at picking up the spin on the ball. I think this year his shoulders were healthy because the bat speed returned to what it was a few years ago. In my mind, he deserves an opportunity in spring training to win the 4th outfielder job, but we need to sign someone (Granderson for instance) for him to compete with.

If healthy Cabrera could be a dangerous dh. The biggest problem is that unlike Ortiz, Cabrera’s bat speed is slowing down.

If we think Duda is not our type guy. Then how about trading for abreau? We give up defense but get a masher with two years of control left.

I’m worried that JD is a walking injury time bomb. If desperate Dave is serious about Stanton, then he will have to play jeter’s game and that means prospects and paying full boat on the salary. Can benintendi play first base? Ala yaz?

A couple years ago, I had mookie and Swihart as untouchable. But then Swihart ripped up his ankle and he has never been the same. Without him, who becomes the third catcher? Romanski?

I could not agree more. We need to replenish the pipeline. I still remain hopeful that we can develop some starters.

If he is healthy. We had a string of walking wounded last season and if we can end that next season, it could be worth a few more wins.

Add in the fact that both received a qo and neither seems like a smart signing, Then in my mind the real question becomes is Duda an upgrade over Moreland. Moreland is the better defender and sadly Moreland is probably better on the bases. Moreland did try to play through a broken big toe and his stats were not that bad. Moreland would probably be cheaper. Unfortunately Moreland did not provide the veteran leadership we needed in the locker room last season.

The Braves punishment probably had something to do with the hold up as well, Interesting that the orioles traded international bonus money for a double a pitcher.

The Quiroz signing probably means that Nunez is not in desperate dave’s plan for 2018. Oh wait! I forgot Desperate dave does not have a plan.

I saw him once and if the pitch bent at all, he could not hit it.

Picture it like this. Men on first and third with one out and Duda at the plate. For every one home run, he will have 19 strike outs. Are you willing to take the good along with the bad?

I like this signing. Worst case is this adds depth.

I keep thinking Martinez will be the first domino to fall, but maybe someone makes a live connection with hosmer first. Regardless, the longer Miami draws out the Stanton trade, the more trade partners they lose.

Doesn’t Duda strike out about 200 times more than Napoli per season?

With pedroia starting the year on the dl, that would allow a spot for holt provided we do not sign a guy like Nunez. But why all the love for Hernandez? The guy has not played in over a year.

Looks like a deal has been made on the ohtani situation. We should start to see the dominos falling any day now! I think we should investigate trading for pavel smith. His path is blocked by goldsmith.

There was a time when teams kept a good glove - no bat player on the roster. There is no doubt these four and Travis can make positive contributions to our team next year. The question is - are their potential contributions at their projected price worth more than better replacements at their projected price?

Hasn’t Martinez missed significant tim with injury in four of the last five years? Did either hosmer and Santana receive a qo?
