  1. Is the decline due to his rising walk rate? Then the question becomes, is the rising walk rate an aberration? His fastball has not lost much if any gas, so what else makes you think his decline is coming???
  2. The New York reporters all think the Yankees want to keep Torres at second. Either way, if the Yankees lose leverage, they would be nuts to shell out huge dollars for Machado.
  3. If that happens then the Yankees would have to sign Machado because there is not much else offensively on the free agent market at short stop. Machado’s Agent should use that leverage to squeeze every last ounce of cash possible out of cashman.
  4. I see stuff in the media about how the Sox should be interested in signing Robertson, but shouldn’t we be interested in signing Britton instead? He is a lefty and he has closing experience.
  5. Hope the imminent signing is a starter.
  6. Seems a couple of news outlets are reporting the Yankees tried to get segura from Seattle as well as Paxton. Maybe the Yankees are sincere in saying they are not fans of Machado.
  7. Seems our current 40 man roster is only at 39. So we have room to add eovaldi, Time for desperate Dave to earn his check and sign us another starter.
  8. Are they saving a spot for eovaldi or Felton?
  9. If we resign eovaldi, who gets booted off the 40 man roster?
  10. Or they watched ockimey get destroyed in the afl.
  11. Josh Taylor as well!
  12. Why are we trying to trade a catcher? Don’t our pitchers love throwing to Leon and Vazquez? Mentally happy pitchers are a good thing to have! Aren’t dalbec and denryi at their highest potential trade chip value right now? Throw in a Matta or Hernandez and we should be able to get the reds closer.
  13. I like this trade. Brewer needs more seasoning at pawtucket, but he might be useful in 2019.
  14. True jeter got raped in the yelich trade and that had to hurt. I guess he treats that trade Like he does when his herpes flair up, just adds a little ointment to get some soothing action. And True jeter did let the Yankees rape him in the Stanton trade, but he made the Steinbrenners swallow the whole contract, I think. And granted the young stienbrenners are naturals at swallowing the whole load, after all they learned it from the best there ever was, their daddy, George! But didn’t Miami sign the Cuban Twins, victor and Victoria? Maybe jeter is finally figuring it out! I know they say “you can’t fix stupid”, but let’s hope that’s not true for jeter’s sake! Ps: I heard the Atlanta front office sent jeter a giant flower basket with a one word card shortly after jeter got control of the team. The card said “thanks”!
  15. We cut maddox, who had rotator cuff surgery and will miss all of 2019 and curvases, who will play in Korea.
  16. I think Atlanta has offered the most for realmuto, but jeter is hesitant to trade within the division.
  17. So we start the year with pedrioa and Wright in the 60 day dl?
  18. I am totally missing why anyone would give Harper a 200-300 million dollar contract. Let the Yankees sign him and let them regret it down the road.
  19. We still need a couple relievers and another starter. John Henry needs to reach a little deeper into his pocket. Thankfully the exodus of talented youngsters via trades, that depleted our minor league system, yielded such stellar arms as smith and thornburg!! Where would we be without those two workhorses????
  20. Clean out surgery done this early means he has time to revover by spring training. He should be ready to go by mid February, but should be put on the roster using pencil only.
  21. If Quiroz had hit better in the afl, then I would think he could be a wild card for second base, but he really looked overmatched and puny. I would like to see chavis start the year at Pawtucket as a second baseman. Hernandez has been gone so long, that he needs a year at Pawtucket to get back into things. If kinsler goes unsigned this offseason, we should make him a no roster invitee. There is no way Pedroia does not break down by March 30th. Kinsler could be plan b.
  22. The yankee trade was extremely interesting. They got an exceptional lefty with great stuff for their top prospect and two fill in pieces. If Paxton stays healthy, he makes the Yankees better. If Sheffield hits his ceiling, he makes this trade look bad for New York. I would like to see us counter by trading for the reds closer!
  23. Let’s not make Johnson something he is not. He is depth. A spot starter/long lefty reliever. He has proven very valuable in that spot and until he develops an out pitch, will never be anything more than that. Right now he should be working my on a splitter or cutter that can generate more swings and misses, because his current pitches only work if his control is exceptional.
